Restaurants with great food and sometimes entertainment were just a short walk by road or right along the beach. The hostess Arlene was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing time and opportunity to experience the local Garifuna culture."

"Our family of 20 (ages 2 to 72) had a fantastic time together at the Shedrock Shangrila. There was plenty of space, and the pool and beach were a big hit. Kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles were all used by our group. We also enjoyed the close proximity to Hopkins village. Wonderful stay overall."

Hosts were incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive, anticipating our needs before we even knew we had them. They will regularly pop by to check in on you, but they never feel intrusive. They are also very responsive to requests. And they even bought some food items to start us out. Hosts also act as concierge; they will help you set up tours and excursions. When booking snorkeling and fishing adventures through them, they will pick you up right at the dock. Another bonus, the hosts can book a private chef to come to the house to cook dinners. She is an excellent cook and her prices are very reasonable."
