"Not a 5-star experience – very disappointing stay I stayed at Pickalbatros White Beach Resort Taghazout with my partner from 2nd–5th April 2026, and the experience was very disappointing. The room and bathroom were poorly cleaned, with visible hygiene issues including hair strands left behind. The room itself was in a dilapidated condition and nowhere near 5-star standards. There were also serious safety concerns. Some lights produced a burning smell when switched on, suggesting faulty wiring and a potential hazard. This is completely unacceptable. The bathroom was not properly maintained. The shower was broken and only fixed after repeated complaints, and the shower area light did not work at all during our stay despite being reported multiple times. Service was inconsistent and at times felt discriminatory. During lunch, we were told to get our own water as it was “self-service,” yet the same waiter was serving and chatting with another (white) couple. The only positives were the pool and the beach, although the beach is not private and the hotel has no dedicated sunbeds. Overall, this hotel does not meet 5-star expectations in cleanliness, maintenance, safety, or service."

"Great view of the sunset over the ocean from the room. All clean and beautifully decorated. Friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool. Tasty breakfast. Free shuttle to the beach though the walk is fine too. Good options available for dinner but pricing could be more transparent - also more expensive than local restaurants around, as you’d expect. We had a great stay and definitely hope to come back! "

"We had a lovely stay at Paradise Plage. The lobby area pool and common areas are beautiful. The gym is nice and surf lessons were great (though quite expensive). Yoga was also expensive and the only class that was more of a workout was at 7 am unfortunately too early for me. The room itself , however , is quite dated and feels a bit dirty. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms so there is black mildew in the showers. The shower head is also not great. There were ants in the bathroom, living room and bedroom. The food was just average, similar to a 3star property in the uk. There aren’t any good supermarkets near by so dining options are very limited. The pizza was nice, I didn’t enjoy the coffee from the machines at breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and worked very hard, they definitely tried their best though service was slow as the hotel was busy when we stayed. "

"Despite its premium pricing by Moroccan standards, this hotel fails to deliver a true five-star experience. Service is slow, inconsistent, and often inattentive, with management appearing overly focused on delegation rather than actively supporting operations. A more hands-on leadership approach is clearly needed. The beach service was particularly poor, with staff rarely engaging guests and even displaying unprofessional behaviour during a heated staff dispute. The adults’ pool area also felt neglected, with disengaged lifeguards and little effort to manage sunbeds or maintain cleanliness. Dining lacked consistency, from unclear service standards to disorganised breakfast operations, where guests were left confused and staff appeared idle. The ongoing issue of birds entering indoor dining areas further detracts from the experience. While food quality is generally good, prices are high compared to better local alternatives. Water pricing is excessive, especially given prior communication suggesting it would be complimentary. In a hot climate, the lack of accessible free water feels particularly unreasonable. Overall, while the property is visually impressive, service shortcomings significantly undermine the experience. With stronger leadership and clearer standards, the hotel has potential, but currently falls short of expectations."

"We booked a transfer which although confirmed did not arrive, we took a private taxi and when we got to the hotel they said that they hasn’t received our booking - we were put in a private apartment a 20 minute walk from the hotel. This was not ideal as we had our booking confirmed on hotels.com. I would warn someone about booking here especially if traveling alone. "
