"Absolutely blown away by our stay here. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was spectacular!
Thank you Stonefield! "
"Very unique, all sixties American diner design including jukebox.
Parking not good as you need to join the main road on a corner, with parked cars restrickting view."
"The rooms were okay for a one night stay, however they need refurbishment, as they are dated and some things no longer work.
The staff were friendly and served the purpose for us, as it was a last minute booking. "

"Lovely traditional hotel. Dining room had superb views over the loch. Lots of lovely walks within the grounds. Staff were very attentive and the rooms clean and inviting. The food was excellent. "
"Fantastic hotel which has clearly had a lot of work done in recent times. I was greeted warmly by Ricky and checked in to Room 2, which was massive - and simply perfect for my (5 stone) greyhound, as he had space to move.
The Royal Marine is one of 2 dog friendly hotels in the area, and as you can see, His Lordship was made ever so welcome and he slept like a log, as did I! I brought his own bed, however my bed was super comfy and cosy. There was a tv, a (clean!) kettle with tea & coffee and large en-suite.
The building itself is steeped in history and is architecturally stunning. For the same price you could stay in one of the bland, characterless, pokey guesthouses nearer town.... but why would you? From what I could tell, every room looked different, which was a nice touch.
The terrace is a great place to sit and watch the Clyde roll by, and there was ample parking too. The log fire in the bar was both cosy and aesthetically pleasing, and the whole place was super clean.
Sadly I was staying due to holding my husbands funeral in Dunoon, but the hotel being bright and cheerful really helped me alot. All the staff were fun and incredibly friendly (it is rare for housekeeping to say good morning these days, but the ladies here were wonderful). Also, a big thumbs-up to Fiona on the bar for making my stay a thoroughly enjoyable one; it really is the staff who make a hotel feel like home.
As Arnie would say, Ill be back! Thank you xxx"
"Our room was clean and had tea/ coffee making facilities. Toiletries were also provided.
The view out our window was of the castle. Good location. Hotel requires some updating and there are a few stairs to the rooms. "
