Location and service are the best. It's a stones throw away from the entrance to Sequoia Nat'l Park and a full bar is great to return to after a day of hiking. The staff go out of their way to be helpful, and restaurant breakfast and dinner were pretty good! The view over the river from the restaurant was nice. Only complaints were that previous guests left half eaten food in our dresser and a used washcloth that had not been cleaned out before we checked in, and the rooms are a little drafty. Still, overall had a positive stay and the convenience of this hotel simply can't be beat.

Cons: the room smelled yet clean, there was hair on the bad, old furniture but outside need paint. Pros: the location is very convenient closed to the Park entrance, it has a gorgeous view of the river all next to the restaurant and our room, and the staff is very polite and attentive. Food is good but pricey.

We stayed in a warm and cosy quaint little room. it was clean and the owner, Glen, just put in a new heater. The restaurant is a little pricey but it was worth it on Monday night. Tuesday night we went there again, for the lack of a better one in the surrounding, but the Tuesday dinner was not good - felt like the main chef was off.

It was smaller than expected but it worked the beds were very uncomfortable I had stiff neck and shoulders for days after but it was beautiful the area was absolutely gorgeous and they were very kind the staff and helpful and it was enjoyable

The Gateway staff were so friendly from the second we walked in. This was the perfect LA escape. Perfectly situated just a quarter mile away from Sequoia National Park, this was the best spot to access the park conveniently and enjoy meeting locals at the bar/restaurant on site. So glad we stayed here!

Staff are customer focused at both the restaurant and lodging. Housekeeper Ruth was personable, and accommodating. We have never had better room service, and she made us feel at home.

The location is great if you want to be close to the Sequoia National Park entrance. But the room we stayed in smelled so strongly of freshener spray that I couldn't sleep well and it gave me a headache. It seemed like they were trying to cover some bad smell. The surfaces of the nightstands and tables were a little sticky. The bathroom wasn't too bad. If we do come back, we'll get food next store but will definitely not stay here.

Adorable, nostalgic place
The motel is nostalgic. It could use a spruce up but it was a pretty sweet place. The restaurant was delicious with such great ambiance. We sat outside right by the river...loved it! We would definitely stay there again even though it is an older motel. The people who work there are so kind.

This property is very rundown. It desperately needs a complete redo. Everything was old, and dirty. Th fridge looked 20 years old and was very loud. The ceiling fan didn't work and the main door had to be forced to stay locked. The restaurant was similar to the room. The prices were way over the quality of the food. Avoid this place if you can.

The property was in a convenient location very close to the park and the stuff at the restaurant, except for one, were very friendly. Our two bedroom unit was nice and spacious - great kitchen and out door deck with a wonderful seating area overlooking the water! The unit needed a lot of cleaning.

We didn’t stay once in the room we decided to leave due to the condition of the room. The AC was old and dirty. Impossible for us to spend the night we lost our money too bad.

Expensive for the quality you get. Super close to Sequoia which is why I stayed there but next time will opt for something a little further away that is less expensive. Very friendly staff and the river setting is quite nice.

Fun, funky, completely inelegant cottage (but with its own sauna) next to a beautiful, rushing river. Everything you would expect for a remote setting — but with a good bar and restaurant (get the broiled salmon). Friendly, welcoming staff.

This lodge is super close to Sequoia NP, and offers dining options. I enjoyed being able to park in front of my room, rather than a mega hotel, and also the shaded porch outside my dwelling. Bonus: the robust & beautiful Wakeah River is adjacent to the restaurant---Gorgeous! Suggestion: lodge check-in and check-out needs more streamlined. I had to ask for wi-fi info, no one offered to tell me where ice machine was (I never found it during my stay), and with the restaurant/office not opening until later in the day, i had no idea where to leave my keys (not key card, but keys)upon check-out. There is not a Dropbox. Despite this, I'd stay there again.

There is no front desk, you check in at the hostess station in the restaurant. The rooms were tiny. The beds were leaning and not comfy. The a/c barely worked and the room was hot. There is no designated parking. If the restaurant is busy the lot is full and there is nowhere to park. I would not stay there again and do not recommend.

Which room were you staying in Debra? I recently replaced two of my air conditioners. As with most businesses in Three Rivers, we are short on parking, and limited on space, and try to make best use of the space we have.

Older quait property with gret location
The hotel is older yet still quaint. It is the closest accommodations to the south entrance to Sequoia Nat'l Park. The location is VERY scenic and peaceful. Food in the restaurant was good though a bit pricey. Service was GREAT and people very friendly. Would stay here again.

Our cabin was right on the river. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning enjoying a cup of coffee and in the evening sipping a glass of wine while enjoying the rushing rapids of the river below.
