About this property

Juniper Presents: The Farmhouse at Historic 33 Acre Berrywood Farm

  • Summary:

The Farmhouse at Berrywood Farm is a historic 4BR/4BA retreat on 33 scenic acres with bright living areas, a sunroom, a spacious deck, and community pool + firepit. Surrounded by ponds, gardens, and nature paths, it provides an inviting Harbor Country setting for families and groups. This residence shares certain outdoor areas with guests staying in the other homes on the property. To reserve the full farm, see our listing for Berrywood Farm.

    The Space:

The Farmhouse includes 3 refined living areas suited to time together. The main great room centers on a brick fireplace and generous seating for movies or conversation. A bright sunroom offers a contemporary lounge with wide farm views, while the front sitting room provides a quiet place to read or settle in at the end of the day. The kitchen pairs historic character with beautiful updates, including butcher-block counters, classic cabinetry, and a central island for meal prep. The adjoining dining room, lined with windows overlooking the fields, brings a, inviting atmosphere for meals that naturally extend into the evening.

Four bright bedrooms reflect individual character, from the airy signature suite with vaulted ceilings and a built-in work area to guest rooms in soft blue and golden palettes. A cheerful bunk room with twin-over-twin bunks adds a retreat-like feel for younger guests.

So this is a beautiful, historic, location that is comfortable, casual, and quiet. It advertises an 1836 historic vintage but it's been updated many times over the years and has most of the modern conveniences while retaining the traditional farmhouse atmosphere. Since there were only 4 of us with a baby - and this place sleeps 10 - we wouldn't have stayed here if not for the abrupt cancellation of our other rental in Three Oaks two days prior to our arrival. VRBO's VRBO Care program helped us with a partial reimbursement to make up for the difference in cost. The place was a little hard to find. Google maps shows a picture of the woods for the location of the address provided. We needed to search for a mailbox with the address and a related driveway to find our way in. I would recommend the host provide a pin to the exact location of the driveway with a note that the house is tucked way back on the property and there's a little drive through the woods to get to the house. (We saw lots of deer in the fields around the property)On settling in, I checked the kitchen for coffee maker, filters, coffee, etc. I found everything (including French Press) but not the coffee. I asked about it and was told they'd bring some ASAP and would leave it on the porch. Next morning, we found coffee, more filters, and a box of K-cups (even though I couldn't find a Keurig machine). They picked a good brand too and it was delicious.
