About this property
Fully Renovated 2 Bedroom Cottage Next to Camp Luther.
Owls Nest on Rangeline Lake Perfect for silent sports The Owls Nest was built by Frederick "Cy" Williams an American professional baseball player for the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies. This 2-bedroom cabin is nestled among large pines and has the original log siding but has been totally renovated inside. The newly remodeled Kitchen and Bathroom are roomy with full amenities. The entire cottage has a rustic look. The décor is a mix of all things that our family loves that makes you feel immediately at home. The cabin has an abundance of natural wood that gives it a very inviting feel that you won’t want to leave. Though the cabin is setback off the lake, a short stroll gives way to a private beach, sitting area, fire pit, and private dock. Rangeline lake is (129 acres) great for fishing and is connected to world's largest chain of 28 lakes, a perfect place for kayaking, spotting birds and other wildlife. The 3 Eagle Bike Trail is just down the road and is perfect for biking or walking through the area woodlands. The scenery and wildlife are spectacular.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation look no further than the Owls nest. The Owls Nest is located on Cy Williams Road a short walk from Camp Luther. The Owls Nest is a Northern Lakes Vacation Homes LLC managed property. We look forward to hosting your Northwoods vacation! Fantastic property! Wonderful host as well as the property manager. Very clean, quiet and excellent location! Thank you again!
I would highly recommend this getaway!
Although the cabin isn't right on the lake (it's about a 100 yard walk to get to the water), it's a great launching point to explore the area - hiking, biking, wandering, etc. We had a great time and the cabin and property are wonderful and beautiful. The host and neighbors were really wonderful too.
Great….Right in the middle of Three Lakes and Eagle River. Water Access to all the lake chain right from the dock. Gas Heat and AC
Good, Cabin was rustic with that old cabin feel with updated amenities. Could use better craftsmanship.
Bad, mattress’s and furniture (couch and chairs) may be as old as the cabin. Very uncomfortable for all. As for the 2 beds, bring foam unless they replace due to this review.
Finally, the walk to the lake is a bit deceptive in original ad. There is no view from the cabin of the lake. Have to walk behind Sue,the owners) house then a large hill and then another 50 yards to the lake.
Overall I think it was a bit high priced for the distance from the water and the comfort level of the furniture.
Be aware, you are expected to fully clean the cabin before you leave. Yes, they want you to vacuum, mop and clean bathroom. For that price I could have stayed in a resort with full service.
Best wishes.
Thank you for an incredible amazing stay! Your cottage in the woods was so inviting and so wonderfully cozy! When you were inside looking out, you were surrounded by greenery and woods! What a view to wake up to every morning! Walking down to the lake and sitting by the water was incredible peaceful! Many thanks to Elliot, our host and to Sue, our neighbor and owner of the cottage! You both made us feel so welcomed from the very start! We will be back, that's for sure!!
The cabin was a perfect size for my spouse, myself and dog. A guiet area making it possible to hear the laughter from the near by camp and the wind whispering through the pines. Leaning toward rustic but having all the luxuries that are really needed. From this location you can visit nearby towns and natural sites. We would stay again.
PLEASED.
We liked the place, we were a bit disappointed by the distance from the lake and a hike up and down from and to the cabin and the lake. My husband is on oxygen so hike down was ok but the up was a bit challenge. Pictures of the cabin should include the way up and down to the lake.
Beautiful little cabin the perfect distance from the hustle and bustle of Eagle River yet close enough to get to when you want it. Cabin was nicely appointed with everything you could need and nicely decorated! A little awkward walking by the owners house to get to the lake, but they are very sweet people! Lake not the best for fishing and only accessible to other lakes via small boat, but boat rentals are available in Eagle River . Quaint downtown, winery very close by and awesome people. Property manager was awesome! Stocked us up with firewood and even brought over lifejackets! We had one small issue and it was corrected right away!! Fish fry at the Nutty Squirrel is well worth the wait and drive! Diversions is a great little shop in town and Jokin Joe's Bait shop is a must- open 24 hours!!!! Fresh curds on Friday too!!
The cabin is updated, clean and spacious yet cozy. We loved the "northwoods" and antique decor. The property is well kept and full of trees (good shade on those hot summer days). The cabin is set on a hill and there are about 200 steps to the lake which includes about 16 stairs on the hill. In my opinion, the cost reflects not being exactly "lakeside", so we were okay with that.
We had a great time using the kayaks and paddle boat on the 129 acre Range Line Lake which connects thru a channel to larger lakes. The lake is quiet so you won't be bothered by many power boats or jet skis. The weather was perfect (which helped).
The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances we needed including a kuerig coffee maker. The living room has a Roku TV for streaming channels, a sofa, and four chairs. There is one bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a full size bed (we had an air mattress, which fit nicely in the living room in case someone was a bad bed partner, snoring :-)). The bathroom is clean and has lots of room. The wifi works great.
Rich, the property manager will get your vacation started and help with any issues.
We met the owner, Sue, who is a very pleasant person and owns a lovely shop (Diversions) in town. Be sure to check it out.
A great location for a quiet getaway to enjoy time with family.

Cute cabin with access to a beautiful, quiet lake.
This was our first time visiting Three Lakes, and Richard was very helpful in providing us with information on the area. The cabin was very clean and any issues that we had, Richard was able to help with immediately. We had a great stay, however the cabin did not offer the privacy we were hoping for, since it shared the lot with two other homes, and to access the lake you had to go through another's backyard. The ability to use the kayaks and paddle boat added great memories to our trip as well.
We had an excellent week on the lake. Fishing, swimming, skiing, tubing, campfires and more. It was all topped off with perfect weather and fireworks, which we viewed from our boat.
The cabin was very clean, cute and updated. We had no issues with the place; it actually was very spacious. We did have one issue: The property was pictured as just the cabin (pictures only showed the cabin) but when we arrived, there were 2 other homes on the property so our stay was not very private at all. Overall, we enjoyed our stay though.
It was awesome! Rich was so friendly and showed us the property when we got there. The scenery was beautiful it was peaceful and so so lovely. The cabin was cozy and I loved that it was older and unique. We had our two German shepherds with us and they loved it too. Going on walks and being off the main roads was nice and secluded and it only took 3 minutes to walk to the lake. I would definitely stay there again I just loved it. Also the kitchen was great you just need to get food at the store you’re set.
The cabin met our expectations. For a fairly last-minute one-week vacation up to the Northwoods, we were quite pleased. Good location with easy access to Three Lakes and Eagle River. Range Line Lake is not visible from the cabin, but is a short walk down the hill. We enjoyed the fire pit and the paddle boat, but didn't use the kayaks. Given its location among the trees and its dark wood interior finishes, the cabin is dark inside, even on a sunny day. Generally it was well furnished and equipped, although we did have to get our own coffee filters (no biggie). All in all we found the Owl's Nest to be a pleasant place to stay and a good value for the money.
If you ’d like a quiet getaway that’s very reasonably priced this is a great property. Three Lakes is very close and a quaint town and it’s easy to get to Eagle River also. Cabin is very nicely remodeled and kitchen is set up with everything you need if you like to cook meals. It was a very nice rental experience.
