"The Lincklaen House was so cute. It was a little dated but honestly it felt like it fit the vibe of the small town. Parking was in a convenient spot and the location was great for adventuring around. Breakfast was super delicious and everything was clean. I would stay here again! "
"This historic Inn was decorated beautifully for the season & our room, Mary Queen of Scott's room#12, was tastefully decorared with an antique canopy bed & period pieces. Our room looked over the courtyard and lake. From the signature drink selection to the appetizer and dinner, portions were beyond expectations with reasonable prices. Waking to peaceful falling snow while drinking our morning coffee was a added bonus. If you want the charm of yesteryears with the conveniences of today found in a quaint village getting, the Brae Loch Inn is your place!"
Vacation Like Gatsby on This Historic 500-Acre Fairy Tale Estate
8/10 Good
"It's hard to review this house because despite the many negatives, my family loved it. There are 17 of us ranging from 4-66. We have been vacationing together for 15yr in various states and landscapes (beaches, lakes, countryside). This is an old house in need of many repairs. The kitchen ceiling by the fridge dripped every now and then, the plaster in the living room ceiling had an area that crumbled onto the floor every day. The house is packed with stuff! China, crystal, pictures, books, lamps, and misc items. There are cobwebs filled with bugs in kitchen, surfaces that haven't been wiped off in many weeks. There are 2 fridges, both dirty as well as the ovens. When I wiped up some spilled water on kitchen floor, it was clear the floors have not been mopped in a long time. That being said, the house is huge! So much room for us all. The bathrooms were clean. Pool is old but big and clean enough. We had such fun being able to play volleyball, kickball, cornhole outside. The view is breathtaking. Keep in mind there is no A/C but lots of fans. The charm of the house and the grounds is what made us love our stay. It would have been great if the porches had the screens put back on and if so many of the windows and patio doors were not screwed closed, we could have used the breeze."
