Holiday Paradise
Very pleasant. Friendly caring host who is willing to help and guide. "Comprehensive care" I would say. Apart from baseline utensils and goods, there are extra: 2 umbrellas already at the front door ready to be used, a torch (in working order - in the bedside table) if need at night, kitchen and dinner table organised as BBQ under cover + trees in front of the bungalow with full kitchen utensils in the plastic tub etc...

Set directly across the road from the beach and cafe, the bungalows have a lovely calmness. No 240 volt power is a blessing and the owners are very generous with their time.

Beautifully done tiny house. Unfortunately it was raining during our stay and we could not take full advantage of the outside seating and cooking/BBQ area. Many nice little touches and attention to detail by the friendly owner. Beach just metres away and a restaurant just across the road. Would not recommend the restaurant!! Not sure about the food but the owner was snappier than the local crocodiles.

Beautiful jungle setting just across the road from Thornton beach. Bungalow was small, but clean and tidy with good outdoor cooking facilities. Camp chairs are umbrellas a nice touch. Wifi problematic, which the owner was trying to resolve. Maybe provide some beach towels for longer stays?

Conveniently located around the Cape Tribulation, and just stone throw away from the pristine Thornton Beach. The cafe is just right across the road. It’s a small and cosy accommodation with a great view of the night stary sky away from the brightly lighted city. Eco friendly place with no air con but the weather is cool and air fresh.

Room with a view
The bungalow was clean but a bit smaller than expected. You could see Thornton Beach from our patio and at night you could hear the calming sounds of the ocean. We did enjoy our stay here.

Perfect beach bungalow
What a beautiful little beach bungalow right in the Daintree rainforest! It was clean, well presented and had absolutely everything we needed. It was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the wildlife around! I would certainly recommend this for a place to stay

We had a lovely stay. The owners are great and very helpful. Close to the beach, central to a lot of things to see and do. A great place to base yourself whilst staying at the cape.

Everything is amazing
At the beginning when we check-in, even though the owner wasn't there, but they left the lovely message on the postcard to make us feel welcoming. The room is small but very lovely. Everything u can think about or u can't think about are all there prepare for u. Very close to the beach, and there is a cafe just cross the road. Too bad we were here to stay 1 night only, don't really have chance and time to use the BBQ. But definitely we will suggest everyone to stay here, and we will come back again.

Quite small room, but clean. The beach is actually on the other side of the road, as we expected the bungalow to be on the beach.

Beautiful Location!
Location was fantastic! Beautiful beach across the road. The host was friendly and helpful. We got discount coupons, a voucher for the ferry ride back and free WiFi which is an amazing deal for the area. Plenty of hot water! Private covered BBQ spot on outdoor patio. The grounds were nice.

Perfect quiet location to explore the Daintree
Great location and a good base to explore the local area. Beach and cafe across the road. Knowledgable host. Cabin is on the small side so not a lot of room for luggage. Not a problem and easy to leave some in the car if necessary. Because of the remoteness of the area, I imagine most people would have a car.

Great place to enjoy nature and get off the grid.
I made the mistake of only booking this place for one night. The accommodations were as expected. Karen and Drew did a great job describing the bungalow on their Hotels.com description. They were quick to greet and respond via email. They were accommodating, warm, friendly, and Drew gave me a nice rundown of all that Cape Tribulation and the surrounding areas have to offer. One of the coolest features of this booking is the beach located through some trees directly in front of the bungalow. You get great views of nature including: an island, the rainforest, a mountain peak and an inlet. I’ll be sure to book again. There’s so many beautiful sights to see. I’d advise booking several days here and a 4X4 so that you can venture further into the rainforest. Daintree Rainforest and it’s beaches have now become my new favorite place in the world. The mix of landscapes—rainforest, mountains, beaches—is truly breathtaking. The buildings in the Daintree Rainforest are largely dependent on solar power. Go here if you want to experience nature. Put away the phones and tablets—mobile service is extremely limited as is WiFi availability—sit back and enjoy the nature show. Some beach fronts have intermittent service. This is a great place to get off the grid. Lastly, the drive (RT 44) to Thornton Beach Bungalows from Cairns, is one of the most beautiful scenic drives you’ll ever take with ocean overlooks on your right and rainforests on the left. Bring a camera.

Small but well equipped and comfortable. Clean and good condition. Good location just across from the beach and cafe. Only small downside was the tight squeeze of the shower stall. Great for short stays. Hosts very friendly and helpful.

Only stayed one night and would not recommend for any longer. Owner very friendly but this place is a little too rustic for me. If you want peace and quite with nothing to do but reflect on life, then this is a nice spot. Close to beach but you can’t swim because of crocodile sightings

Great way to experience the Daintree, without dropping a load of cash. Friendly owners, clean room with ensuite across from the beach (do not swim, especially at night!). Will be back.

Perfect beach and raimforest accomodation
A really clean and comfortable bungalow, right on the beach and right in the centre of the cape tribulation coastline, making it really easy to get everywhere. There's bbq facilities and a fridge, with cutlery etc - so we enjoyed having breakfast on the beach & watching the sunrise most days :) You can hear the sounds of the jungle and the crashing waves at night - so quiet and peaceful! The owners (Drew & Karen) were really friendly and helpful with getting tours booked for us, as well as recommending things to do locally. A truly fantastic stay in paradise! Thank you for a great stay!

Nice quiet location, across the road from the beach. No air conditioning but the ceiling fan did an awesome job. Friendly hosts that sent a detailed email before our arrival describing everything we needed to know, they also supplied a detailed map and list of places of interest which was helpful.

Nice location close to the beach
The owners were very friendly and accommodating, they really helped me planning my excursions , and were very patient with me being so far away and haphazard in me replying to them, but they really made me make the most of my short stay. The Bungalow was smaller than I imagined, but it didn't detract from my stay. It was quiet clean and comfortable - what more do you want?

Looking for peace and quiet? That's your place.
The spot is just perfect. The nicest sleep we had during out trip. You can hear the forest and the ocean on the perfect level of loudness. Just amazing. The cabins are super tiny, but that's that you need for short stay. The beach just across the road, super empty, you can go there in your pajamas. I loved it.

Comfortable and quiet bungalow near the beach
First of all I need to thank the hosts, Karen and Drew, for going above and beyond with emails including detailed directions and suggested itineraries prior to our showing up, even though we could only stay for one night. They seem like good people who will help to make your own visit more relaxing and enjoyable. The bungalows are close enough to fall asleep listening to the ocean and are very clean and well-maintained, basic but by no means spartan, with good en-suite, tea and coffee provided and a bar/cafe (CJ's) literally just across the road. This was unfortunately closed due to a private function when we were there and anywhere else you pretty much have to drive to, so that may be worth keeping in mind if you plan to arrive late. Thornton beach itself seems a really wonderful spot and this was a great place to get away from it all.

Peaceful beachside retreat
My mum and I stayed overnight while at Cape Tribulation and loved it! No TV or phone reception made it a peaceful stay. Drew was an exceptional host!
