About this property

Peaceful Betsie River Retreat on 5 Wooded Acres

  • Secluded, dog-friendly retreat with private river access, deck, firepit, fireplace & grill

If you’re looking for peace, privacy, and easy access to Northern Michigan adventures, this charming riverfront home is hard to beat. Set on five wooded acres atop a hill, this family cabin has a warm, welcoming feel and plenty of space to unwind. A stairway and scenic boardwalk winds through wetlands to the Betsie River, where guests can fish for salmon and steelhead right from the property.

Please note that while the property is riverfront, the home sits atop a hill above the river. Access to the Betsie River is via a fairly steep staircase followed by a boardwalk through the wetlands before reaching the riverbank. The walk is well worth it, but guests with limited mobility should be aware of the terrain.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the location—snowmobile trails are just two blocks away, and Crystal Mountain is about a mile down the road. You’re also close to unique local attractions like Iron Fish Distillery, Michigan Legacy Art Park, St. Ambrose Cellars, Crystal Lake Golf, and more.

Inside, the home features an open floor plan with high vaulted ceilings, exposed cedar beams, hardwood floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light. The cozy living room is perfect for relaxing by the wood-burning fireplace or streaming your favorite shows on the smart TV.

The fully updated kitchen comes equipped with all new appliances—including a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker—and opens directly onto a spacious 15-foot deck with beautiful river views. Step down from the deck to a clearing with a stone-surrounded firepit, ideal for evenings under the stars. Additional highlights include a two-person Jacuzzi tub on the main floor, a small gas grill, and a circular pull-through driveway — perfect for snowmobilers or guests hauling boat trailers.

    Good to know:
    - Streaming services are available using your own accounts
    - Up to two dogs are welcome with a fee
    - Free parking for many vehicles
    - Ring doorbell camera facing the driveway only
    - Guests must be 25 years or older to book.

Please note that this home is located in a quiet, noise-sensitive area. We ask that you please help ensure a peaceful environment for neighbors. We look forward to hosting you!

Cabin was clean, quiet, and private. Plenty of room for 4 people and 2 dogs. Host replied immediately when needed. Dock leading to the river had some damage but it was doable. River was clear and beautiful. Great vacation to get away into the woods, would definitely come back!
