we checked in and staff were unusually nicer than one would expect, this continues for the rest of the afternoon , was very strange.
over dinner we were watching people have these wooden boxes on their tables with their names on them... again this is werird. turns out the hotel had attached to it some kind of wellness/spiritual centre where people book in for weeks at a time to have some sort of spiritual cleanse, the boxes had medication in them.
I didnt feel threatened by it at all, but i felt this should be kept seperate from the hotel, the staff and people from the retreat were walking around like they were high on life , the doctor from next door was present at dinner talking to patients etc.... i knew something was up when we checked in.
anyways that should be all kept seperate in my opinin, hotel itself was beautiful and the chef and food were some of the best i had in sri lanka.... jumbo prawns give them a try .
one more beef was i booked a yala park safari, i was told that the section we went to wasnt as full of animals as the main blocks one or two... i got into jeep and the driver basically said you will have zero chance of seeing an elephant today... ruined my day and i got 5 hrs of bird watching, thats fine if you know what you getting into but I was not told this and really only went for elephants.
