There was an infinity swimming pool overlooking, the wilderness, it was stunning and unforgettable. The hotel was to a high standard overall. Would return.

had a short stay at kithala and we were given a very warm welcome by the front office team .. they make you feel at home and invited us to light the Oil Lamp which is a symbol of respect ..it was very special ..wish we had stayed for few more days !!

This hotel looks nothing like the pictures. The furniture was old, dirty and damaged, the bathroom shower had mold everywhere. The sofa had a cigarette burn on it. When I arrived to the room, there were about 15 mosquitoes attacking us. The room did not seem ready for us. The towels and bed sheets did not smell clean. The food was average. I would not recommend this place for anyone who wants a pleasant stay.

Bel environnement et bel accueil néanmoins nous avons retrouvé un cafard pendant notre séjour dans la chambre. Le personnel est bienveillant mais ça peut être “étouffant” notamment pendant le repas où ils attendent “à côté” de nous la fin de nos plats. Ceci était peut être du au peu de fréquentation pendant notre séjour. Cependant la vue est parfaite pour ce reposer le long de la piscine face aux plantations de riz

Lovely stay

Wonderful friendly service and comfortable rooms. A la carte menu was good but the buffet was not quite so. Loved having a beautiful flower given to us each evening and asking if everything was ok.

I had an excellent stay here. The place was clean, the buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner were amazing! But the biggest thing was the staff were all so helpful and friendly - the best hotel staff I’ve encountered Even my mother who usually complains about everything said she wanted to come back and stay there.

Great place!

This was the most professional stay of my trip. The buffet breakfast and dinner was ample and tasty enough. The bed needed an extra sheet, but they happily obliged. The setting is beautiful—rice patties, a pond, and many interesting fauna. I would have liked a bit of help with touring the local area as they were not as equipped to arrange and book things as I would have liked (perhaps it was a timing/English issue); otherwise, great place to stay—relaxing, organized, and clean.

A really pleasant and comfortable stay here during our time in the hotel. We didn't spend too much time at the hotel as we were out for a full day in safari and left the next morning but we were pleasantly surprised at the lovely surroundings of the hotel and room. The staff were polite and super accommodating. They kindly provided us with a packed breakfast on our safari early morning. Only con was, considering its a peaceful and calm location, we couldn't make use of the pool as it was overcrowded with local guests and their kids.

Good service but dirty bathroom

We stayed one night before our Trip to Yala, the location is good for that but there is not much else to do in Tissamahara. The hotel decor looks very nice, has a pool and big restaurant. The service when we arrived and at the restaurant was very good. We had dinner there, and we curries chosen from the menu rather than than buffet. The food was quite good, but it was quite expensive for Sri Lanka standard. The hotel room was comfortable but the bathroom doesn’t look like it had been cleaned for a while, and we saw a dead cockroach on the edge of the bath, the water wasn’t draining properly either. As the bathtub was surrounded by a glass panel, may be they didn’t bother cleaning the whole bathtub. It was gross.

Geweldige locatie wanneer je Yala NP wil bezoeken

Wij verbleven 2 nachten in Kithala Resort. Ik vond de locatie en uitzicht vanaf onze kamer erg mooi. Uitzicht over het zwembad met daarachter een graanveld waar veel verschillende dieren (vooral vogels) zichtbaar waren. Een lekkere plek om uit te rusten na een bezoek aan Yala NP.

Great little hotel while doing your Yala Safari

great hotel! Food was excellent and good that it is because there is not much in the area. We stayed two nights due to us having a full day safari. The pool was also one of the best parts of the hotel with complementary afternoon tea! Rooms were clean and fairly modern.

Nice place for a safari in Yala

The hotel was really good and clean. We stayed here for one night after our safari at yala park. The price was good, we loved the pool. Stuff was friendy. The only "bad" thing was the WIFI - it didnt work. But that wasnt a big problem for a one night stay. There isnt much to see in tissamaharama town. All in all a good place for a safari.

Lovely hotel

Nice clean comfortable room with air conditioning. However every time you leave the room and take your key out of the card holder the power shuts off in your room. Which means you can't leave electronics charging when you're out. Buffet was nice, but a bit pricey for Sri Lanka. Staff was helpful. Mosquitoes were horrible, wear bug spray even if you're only going out for a minute at dusk / dark.
