A basic room, but very clean and maintained.
However, there was a problem with the shower having no facilities for putting in shampoo, soap, etc., and only one cake of soap was provided for a two-night stay.
Also, we booked and paid for a deluxe, downstairs room, but were upstairs, which made it very difficult for my wife, who has mobility problems.
The stairwell closest to the restaurant did not have a working light, which was a problem once the night arrived

Novel and unique stay but wouldn’t stay again or recommend due to price and returns of experience.
Mountain views also include view of driveways and other people from neighbouring campsite who can see into your bubble. See-through fence around outdoor bathtub.
Included breakfast is cereal, toast and instant coffee. Can pay additional for hot meal (pre-made curry and microwave rice), which cost $20+ so we chose to drive to nearby town for dinner instead.
Cosy room and bed with fireplace, modern bathroom, clean.
Self check in and out. Easy to find.
Owner was responsive via phone.
Cute wooden communal lodge designed for group gatherings.

Exceptional experience but parking is a concern. Due to the unsatisfactory parking situation ( only valet available) I’d consider another hotel next stay in Devonport. The restaurant was closed. The room was clean but there were some issues in the bathroom with the shower. We didn't use the air conditioning because it was a lovely night.
