A seafood restaurant just outside the Tottori station.

I believe this is Japanese Whelk sashimi. Quite unusual but not very distinctive in terms of taste!

First time I tried it was at Divers City in Tokyo. This is second time and tasted slightly better. It is far from my favorite sashimi.

While the French loves Foie Gras, the Peruvian guinea pig, the Chinese shark fin, the Japanese raw fish, this is one meat as far as I know only found in Japan. It's horse meat! I know, unthinkable. Not to mention it is raw! It is not even expensive. Frankly, I don't get it

Outside the Tottori Station. There are hotels, shopping centers and restaurants within a few steps outside the station. The best deal I got out of this station is that just on the right side of the exit there is a tourist office for foreigners where the staff can converse in English, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese; here is a very good offer where u can get a taxi at ¥1000 (per person, but since I was alone I had the use of the cab solely for my trip) for 3 hours to tour the nearby national park and sand dunes. Nowhere in Japan can u get a cab for this rate for 3 hours! Even if one takes the public bus it will cost more!
