Sindurga (meaning Ocean Fort), was built in 1664 by the great 17th century Maratha King, Shivaji. You will be awed at the the majestic fort and wonder how stupendous the task would have been in that era in the midst of the sea. Even today you can only access it during calm weather using boats.
