When the architect Filippo Brunelleschi proposed the design for what was, at that time, the largest dome in the world, he was aiming high. 2. Ponte Vecchio

No visit to Florence would be complete without crossing the Ponte Vecchio. The oldest bridge over the Arno dates back to 1345 with its origins in the 10th century.
