"Overall, considering there are not many options when you visit Sand Dunes National Park, we were comfortable and felt safe. When we arrived, the walkway to the front was covered in bushes so we stepped over the beam to get to the door. It was 89 degrees inside the house and it took an hour to figure out how to work the air conditioner. The host was very patient and we finally figured it out. I am not sure why they did not have it cooled when we arrived. The washer had clothes in it and the dryer was full of clothes stacked up high. Glad we did not need this amenity.The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. We found most of the dishes in the dishwasher, clean, and found the kitchen to be well supplied. We did eat our meals at the house. We enjoyed our stay even with these few disappointments. The night sky was beautiful the first night and cloudy the next. The town was interesting. All in all, we were happy we found the house and really enjoyed the park."

"We absolutely loved our stay here and would return in an instant! The property was easy to find even though it was very remote. The check in process with super smooth. It did appear as it is in photos in the listing. We hiked the trails and loved the surroundings. The Rio Grande National Forest is close enough to drive our UTV to and the trails and views through there are incredible. Bonanza is very close by UTV as well, and we all loved seeing the old mine and buildings. Room for everyone to spread out and no lack of hot water for showers. John was always quick to respond when we had questions via text. The WiFi is a must as there is zero cell service without it. Just to be completely honest - there were a few things that weren’t great: The cleaning could be better. The fridge and pantry was full of items either left by previous guests or the hosts. Closets and drawers full of personal items. I’ve never experienced that at a vrbo before. I would prefer it empty. There were signs of mice and we saw one inside, so they were definitely there. That being said - it’s so remote in the mountains, I’m sure pests are a struggle. The biggest suggestion from us would be to do a complete re-stock for the kitchen. Not with appliances, as they were great… but pots/pans/utensils. Some of the pans are in terrible shape and had teflon peeling off like crazy. Could not find any sheet pans (but made do with a casserole dish.) Lots of cups/plates/bowls though. Hope we can return!"

"Great location in quiet downtown Crestone, easy check-in, everything clean as a whistle, no chemical odors. Friendly, communicative hosts, restaurants, and natural food store a short walk away. Highly recommend!"
