"We had a two room suite with one bathroom. There was an issue with the bedroom door sticking and the handle kept coming off. The TV in that room would stay on for about 15-20 seconds and shut off. When we told the man at the front desk, he couldn't have cared less. The room looked like it was in the process of being updated. It could use a fresh coat of paint. The beds were okay. Not the best, not the worse. One room temperature was very comfortable, while the other room was stuffy. Fairly quiet. The pool was in excellent shape. Not very warm for being heated. The spa was small but a nice temperature."

"This is a nice, homey place, located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. I would stay here again, but I gave it a lower score on some things because not having a person on site made a few things difficult. Check-in was great even without anyone there because of good instructions and a simple process. The hardest part was when we didn't get our room restocked with coffee, coffee cups, toiletries, etc there was no one there to go get them from. ThRhe trash was not emptied and there was no one to get a bag from to do it ourselves. Don't forget any toiletries because no one will be there if you realize you need a shaver or anything too late to drive somewhere for them. You might want to bring a hairdryer because their little wall unit is a hair-grabber and took part of mine into the back of it. Now that I know these things, next time I will bring more from home. On day 3, I was disappointed that nothing had been done except to drop off towels, toilet paper, and kneenex that I asked the young man in the hall who was cleaning to be sure to leave when he touched up our room. He left those things, but also left behind the unemptied trash, the room untouched, and our used towels that we had piled together on the bathroom floor to make it easier for him. He was kind though, which matters."

It appears the hotel had recently undergone some remodeling when I stayed in September 2026, and the updates made the property feel clean, fresh, and well cared for. Overall, I had a very good stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The breakfast wasn’t anything exceptional, but it covered the essentials...hot waffles, coffee, juice, and a few other options. For a 2-star hotel, it was actually better than what I’ve experienced at many comparable properties. Overall, a comfortable stay and a good value."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The room was, spacious and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly helpful. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels that have really awful restaurant/breakfast. We sit down restaurant in the hotel was delicious. Generous portions and well cooked food. The next time I’m in Iowa I will only stay here."

"I enjoyed the fun, colorful designs, the rather Scandinavian simplicity. Also appreciated no carpet on the floor so room felt cleaner. Not fussy bathroom. Easy to use shower and installed shampoo etc in the shower so no loose bottles. Lobby had lots of different seating. Breakfast had good food. Pancake machine was finicky but pancakes were fine. Appreciated choice of decaf coffee. Location was great. I could get to the Czech Village by simple route. Bed very comfortable"
