The best area to stay in Tertsa is right along the beachfront, as the village itself is quite small and centred around its picturesque bay.

This charming, laid-back village is located on the south coast of Crete. The main area of Tertsa stretches along a beautiful pebble beach, with a handful of tavernas and guesthouses directly overlooking the Libyan Sea. The village is compact, meaning everything is within easy walking distance, from the beach to the local shops.

Couples looking for a quiet, romantic escape will find Tertsa ideal. The pace of life here is slow, superb for relaxing by the sea, enjoying meals at beachfront tavernas, and taking leisurely strolls. It's a place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty without the crowds.

Solo travellers seeking peace and a friendly local atmosphere will also appreciate Tertsa. The village offers a genuine taste of Cretan life, with opportunities to connect with locals and other visitors in a relaxed setting.

The best time to visit Tertsa is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June and again from September to October.

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, ideal for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find fewer crowds compared to July and August, meaning a more relaxed experience and easier access to local tavernas and attractions. The sea is also warm enough for swimming, making it superb for couples looking for a peaceful escape.

For those who don't mind warmer temperatures and prefer a livelier atmosphere, July and August offer the hottest weather and the most bustling village life. This is peak season, so while the village will be busy, it's a great time for families who want to enjoy all the facilities and energy of Tertsa at its fullest.
