Impressive Dome with Great Panoramic Desert Views in Terlingua, Texas

Sleep under the Milky Way in a crystal-clear geodesic dome perched on a 100-foot volcanic hill in Terlingua, Texas, 11 minutes from Big Bend National Park. One-third of this is transparent window: watch the stars straight from your bed, or pull the massive blackout curtains for total privacy. Our space-themed basecamp mixes art, technology, comfort and the delightfully bizarre, so keep an eye out for aliens, spaceships and meteors hidden around the hill.

BATHROOMS (PLEASE READ)

There is no bathroom inside the pod. Shared bathhouses with hot showers and flush toilets are a short 2-minute walk (100–400 feet). Towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided.



LOCATION

On TX-118 in Terlingua: 11 minutes to Big Bend National Park, 5 minutes to Terlingua Ghost Town's shops, restaurants, grocery and gas. Use Google Maps (Apple Maps struggles out here). We're in an International Dark Sky area: bring a flashlight, and arrive before sunset if you can.



WATER

Our well water comes from a 750-foot aquifer but is non-potable, so bring drinking water. Water is precious in the desert, so please keep showers to 5 minutes.



PETS

Welcome: $95 for up to 2 pets, plus $50 for each extra pet (max 4). Let us know after booking so we can add it. Keep them leashed, on the trails, and never alone in the pod. Unreported pets are charged $250.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

• Check-in 4–9pm with UTV help up the hill for you and your bags. Arriving after 9pm? It's self check-in, and after booking you'll get every detail you need. Check-out 11am

• The pod is up the hill: the trail is a steep dirt path, about a 2-minute walk. Our UTV runs luggage up 9am–9pm

• Date or pod changes $50 ($100 same day), subject to availability. Contact us to request

• Campfires welcome: never leave a fire unattended, take extra care in strong wind, and fully put it out with water

• Steep, rocky terrain: wear proper shoes, stay on trails, close screen doors (desert wildlife is real)

• Off-grid property: occasional power outages happen

• Nearest hospital is in Alpine, 1+ hour away
