Guests of Ten Bits Ranch may hike and explore over 550 private acres of Ten Bits Ranch land at their leisure. Ten Bits Ranch is your own personal National Park without all the rules and restrictions of hiking the public land.
Guests may have a complimentary self-serve continental breakfast or prepare your own meal 24/7 in the full guest kitchen and dining area in the shared Cantina space.

The Schoolhouse (Room #2) is a private hotel room with 1 king bed, air conditioning, gas log fireplace, WIFI, satellite television, mini refrigerator, microwave and a private bath, all in an old Western town setting.
The Ten Bits Ranch Schoolhouse (Room #2) is part of an old West town themed setting. There is a Bank, Schoolhouse, Gun Shop, General Store, Steakhouse, Hattery, Gazette, Courthouse, Saloon, Hotel, Barber Shop, Saddle shop and Jail.
There are several shared fire pits on Ten Bits Ranch, including one near the Schoolhouse (Room #2). Ten Bits Ranch has a guest shared Cantina dining area with a full kitchen for your use. You may save a significant amount of time and money while in Big Bend by preparing your own meals in the shared Cantina kitchen.

The cabin was really nicely decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with necessities, had fridges for guests' food and also areas with donated food from previous guests

The property is arranged like a an old time western town with a few fun twists. we only spent 2 nights here, but we would definitely stay here again. We used this property as a jumping off point for Big Bend National Park which is only about 20 minutes away. Loved the views off the back of our cabin which was schoolhouse #2. Disnt get a chance to explore the property much at all but are looking forward to it on our next visit. Great bed and plenty of room...shower is a little old but didnt bother us at all...great towels and decent amenities.

First Year Anniversary Stay

Out of all of the places around here that you can stay this place, we believe, was the shining star. It’s private, you get your own patio to stare at the gorgeous landscape around you. Views are spectacular, cleanliness and comfort are top notch. We already agreed if we make this trip back here, we will only stay here.

Lovely Stay!

We had a lovely stay. The house was comfortable. We loved the art and history, and the recommendations for The French Grocer and Brick Vault were spot on. We also visited Gage Garden, which was a lovely spot for a walk. Highly Recommended.

The schoolhouse building was just enough for a quick trip to Big Bend National Park. No frills, but adequate housing with a comfy bed to rest your head at night. The outdoor porches were nice with beautiful rocky surroundings! Definitely would have used the firepit if there wasn't a burn ban in effect. Super easy check-in and check-out. Wish we were a little closer to the park to save commuting time.

Getaway under the stars

Relaxing and so quiet. I haven’t seen stars like that in years! Accommodations were comfortable and so clever! I love the old west vibe. It felt like we’re in a movie set. Perfect place to take my husband for his birthday.

The best way to experience Big Bend! The property was gorgeous with panoramic views that were absolutely stunning. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, view was great, and the cantina was awesome! The road is a bit long and not paved so don’t recommend a small car if you can!

Great place to stay, a great disconnect from day-to-day

We wanted a place to unwind and chill, and this was the perfect place for that. The property was neat, welcoming, and flawless. We will definitely come back, with more family next time. It was such a lovely place to gather and forget about stress.

Great place!!

We stayed for two nights and it was fun! If you stay here, read all the instructions that are emailed to you. Bring food, ice, and anything else you feel you need for the length of your stay. The closest grocery store and restaurant is about 30 minutes away. We loved the shared kitchen. It had everything you need to cook your stuff with a nice area for sitting down to eat.

Big Bend NP Vacation

The property offered a place to rest and recuperate from a long day of hiking. A shower and a place to lay our heads for a good night's sleep. Our room was comfortable and once we figured things out, we had a good stay. This was an interesting layout with a few nuances for "living off the grid"! Overall, enjoyable!

Though we reserved the School House at Ten Bits, we ended up at Mercantile #10, due to a wasp nest on the back patio of the School House. Sis was amazing at getting us into a vacant room so that the wasps could be taken care of. Both the rooms were great with absolutely stunning views of sunset. I was really impressed with Sis’ quick response and resolution of the problem. It was a cool place to stay.

A real old west, ranch feel.

Ten Bits Ranch is a unique property. The rooms are named after businesses you’d find in an old west town. But it has modern conveniences (AC, Wifi, tv). If you want to get a way from it all, Ten Bits rests on a low hill within scenic rock formations and hills. Lil Sis was quick to respond to questions, and was unruffled by our mistakenly staying next door to our reserved room. Simply charming and beautiful.

Loved it all!

We had a great time and loved this property. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! We have two dogs, and we enjoyed being able to have them join us. The cantina/kitchen is well appointed and has everything in stock that you need. They even have full breakfast supplies of coffee, water, waffles, bagels, cream cheese, and a few other options. The room was very nice and comfortable. The water gets HOT which is nice after a full day of hiking. The views are spectacular in the morning and evening. There's nice chairs and fire pits to enjoy the sunset too. There was ample opportunity to interact with other guests if you choose. We really enjoyed the solitude and kept to ourselves and appreciated the chance to take full advantage of it.

Road to property need SUV or 4WD

We would stay there again. Very quiet and peaceful. Was concerned about the community kitchen but it was big and very clean. The only drawback was not having potable water in the unit. The unpaved road is a moonscape so beware especially if it rains.

Gorgeous views. Ingenious display of making a resort look like Old Wild West Town. Rooms are nice, (non potable water). My only take back is that there is nothing around for hundreds of miles. You won't have it unless you bring it with you. The common kitchen building is very nice and the bbq works very well. I really enjoyed my stay there and would consider going back.
