"The resort is in a very quiet area. They could have a small shop for essentials. There was a pool bar but unfortunately it was closed. The cleaners were hit and miss not their fault, but meant we had no cleaning and the bin not emptied. There was no facility to empty the bin ourselves. The rooms were dated and could do with some sprucing up. No information on what was around. Handy for the beach."

"This is a lovely property that is very close to the beach and a 5 min cycle ride to Monte Gordo. There is also a nearby shop attached to a cafe that is perfect for essentials. The beach itself (5 mins walk away) is stunning and seems to go on forever. As is clear from the pictures, decoratively the house is a tad dated inside. For those who don't mind this, however, it offers a perfect Algarve beach house. Although the house has 5 bedrooms, the small living area would make it a bit of a squeeze...

"House was perfect for our situation. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach. Within close driving distance to many restaurants. Fantastic bakery within a 5 minute walk. As North Americans, we were shocked that no amenities were provided such as beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, shampoo etc. I guess that it is not common in Europe to provide those things. They are things that we cannot bring all that way in our luggage. We made it work though. "

"This is the fifth time we've spent our vacation at Cabanas, and I must say, we've never had such a beautiful apartment.Spacious, with large French doors leading to the garden, and even enough space to park the car in the driveway.The apartment is fully furnished and has everything you need, and is quietly located yet right near the town center.Jan...a great host. Always interested in whether everything is alright."

"We got the cheap studio with the sofa beds that dont have such great reviews. However, we turned them around and put them together to make a big bed. They were quite comfortable and the sheets and pillows were good quality. Very satisfied. The only issue was that there was no dish soap in the kitchen. The balcony had great views of the village and the beach. We were facing west, and had a lovely sunset. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the restaurant called Bellmonte next...

"La limpieza deja mucho que desear, pero en general todo, no hay menaje del hogar y lo que hay está roto, los cuchillos,etc. No hay un simple escurridor, las sartenes viejas y grasientas al igual que toda la cocina. En el salón no hay persiana, ni un simple visillo, ni toldo, ni una simple sombrilla, la parte del patio no está cerrada y pasa toda la urbanización cuando estas comiendo o cenando, las sillas de la terraza son de bar incomodísimas, y si las da el sol queman. "There's a welcome drink at check in, which is a nice touch. Decent size room with a good size south facing balcony (worth the extra cost). Spacious and clean bathroom. Pool clean but totally very warm in October, despite the sunny weather. Plenty of sun loungers available. Pool access is through the gym though which is rather strange, or via reception on the floor above. The indoor pool is very small, short and narrow, ok to lounge about in, but you can't really swim. There is a sauna and steam room too, but these are also quite small. One annoying feature is that pool towels are only available at reception for a €10 deposit, annoying if you arrive at the spa and then have to go back up to reception on the floor above to get a towel. I don't know why this couldn't be done in the spa itself. Good choice at breakfast, especially the hot food selection, but the pastries are a poor, and not very well displayed, just thrown onto a plate. The dining room is also quite noisy being a hard floor, with chairs being moved etc. Piano player during breakfast is a nice touch, as is the sparkling wine. The roof bar is a great place in the evening, often with live music, food and snacks available too. During our stay one of the lifts was out of service for 5 days, meaning there was always a long wait. All in all, a good hotel with great facilities and also only 5 minutes walk to the town centre."

"Must book, great location, staff were all great as nothing was to much trouble, hotel was clean and tidy, there was 2 terraces which we enjoyed a drink watching the sun going down before heading out for dinner, the beach club is a nice 2km stroll from the hotel, and just €3-5 euro to get a taxi back if you don't want to walk, The beach club is such a wonderful place and we spent 2 days of complete relaxation on our 4 night stay so well worth the visit, the hotel staff booked our sunbeds and the food at the beach club is very nice as well. on our last night we enjoyed some cocktails in the hotel bar that were mixed up by one of the staff and highly recommend the Mai Tai "

"We enjoyed our 3-night stay at the resort. The check-in was seamless and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend renting a vehicle, as the resort is quite aways from dining (other than resort options). Parking in the outside parking lot was free, as well as street parking. Parking underground was 12 euros per night. In October, we had no trouble finding a spot outside. The room was in the smaller side, but neat, clean and comfortable. Yes, there were a few ants in the bathroom, but it was understandable given the somewhat remote location close to nature. I would recommend bringing insect repellant, even in October, if you plan to eat outside in the evenings. The breakfasts were pretty good, with lots of options. We had the dinner buffet the first night for 29 euros per person - but for every other lunch and dinner, we went into Tavira or Faro. There were much better options with 4.8/5.0 reviews on google that were tastier and less expensive. If you have a choice, eat outside the resort. That being said, we would definitely stay here again. We did the yoga and the paddle boarding and enjoyed both activities. The yoga was very basic and certainly no comparison to yoga in any major North American city, but the beach was lovely. The paddleboards were the inflatable kind but I got the opportunity to work on my balance and their drag made sure I got a workout in. The resort is comparable to a 4.5 star resort in Mexico."

"We loved the restoration of the old existing structure alongside the stunning extension to the rear. From entering the hotel there is a true welcoming check in. The decor is exquisite and provides a serene ambience. Staff are very helpful and respectful to all our requests. The gardens and the pot plants throughout the exterior of the hotel are calming to the mind. The therapist Christina in the wellness centre was excellent and provided me with a very positive experience at the Luma Wellness Centre. The housekeeping staff were very attentive and our room and terrace were immaculately clean to a high standard. We loved the pool/beach bag provided and the coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was to a high standard and we loved the menu options served to the table. We loved the food in the restaurant,its presentation and the staff and manager’s attentiveness during our dining experience."
