Lovely separate rooms with ensuite in a private house. Own entry onto terrace and the gardens Great views and very quiet. Not too far from Auckland airport which made it an ideal place for us to recover from a long flight
Only stayed one night, wish it could have been longer.
Welcoming hospitality, comfortable clean room, everything we needed for a short stay, beautifully kept gardens and the most glorious view.
Would love to return.
It was a weekend away with my wife for her bday. Our arrival was a little challenging at night to find the driveway. But once we did it was an amazing place with stunning views out over the huraki gulf. Such a place to be and enjoy the beautifully kept gardens and the morening view was stunnning.
Thanks for making a bday celebration worth remembering.

Thank you for your review. Renovating the lodge has been a huge mission here.We have had to work within the structural walls of the lodge which has meant that two bathrooms are smaller than the others. The gardens have been a challenge especially with the sloping banks. We are pleased that you enjoyed them.Drew and Christine
This was our second stay. This Lodge has amazing views over Te Puru Bay with lovely gardens. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, our room warm and comfortable with everything we needed. Thank you for the delicious ginger cake. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent venue and hosts. Could not ask for more. Great location and excellent views. Christine and Drew were marvellous hosts. Could not have asked for more.
Unbelievable lodge
Location few minutes from shops, room & BBq area overlook water, very tidy
Owners on site are extremely friendly, helpful & could not do more to make us comfy.
They upgraded our twin bed single room to a beautiful double bed room with full water views at no extra cost!
We had a full warm Breakfast with prior notice at a minimal charge on their sunny deck.

The Maori heritage was very interesting & significant & it was shared with us by the owners.
The view was spectacular!
A real bonus for me was the fact that there was a piano which I was able to play

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here.
The days here are so beautiful. A hatching of little quails the size of bumble bees are running around the front gardens. Quite delightful to look at.
Thank you for great review,
Owners.
A beautiful home with amazing views of the bay. The owners are warm & welcoming. I slept like a rock! You can tell this property has been restored and maintained with love.

AWESOME AND AMAZING. Drew and Chrissy were so lovely and hospitality. The place is small (only has 5 rooms) but that’s why it’s so comfortable and not crowded. The rooms are kept clean and comfortable and the outdoor areas are very relaxing. You can tell that a lot of time, effort and love has been put in to maintain the place. The views are stunning! Wish I could have spent more time there so will definitely go back again.

We are honored to be able to live on such a historic site. Yes the views are beautiful. This afternoon the sea was like glass, so calm. Thank you for the interesting conversations that we had with you.
A very comfortable and private location with exceptional views. Welcoming host and well presented facility with lovely gardens. We would be happy to stay again. Thank you.
Such a beautiful property and view! The owners definitely go above and beyond to make you comfortable and to ensure you have all you need. The bbq area was super handy and very nice to sit outside and take it all in

The view was amazing and the owners were lovely. We thought it would have been better if there was a kettle and tea facilities in each room rather than in the hallway.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at La Casa Lodge. Today was beautiful with the sea very calm, seabirds diving, and a pod of dolphins cruising along the coastline.
Than you for sharing your holiday with us,
Drew and Christine
Beautiful place with a terrific view. The owners, Christine and Drew, were great, very friendly and accommodating. Their place is situation on the top of a hill with a very long, steep and somewhat gravelly driveway, so walking access is not the best.
Owners Christine and Drew were very helpful, friendly and available to us during our three day and two night stay. Room very clean and equiped, and the owners very accommodating in bringing us more clean dishes and extras every day. Overall, a wonderful stay.
If only our stay could’ve been longer, this place was fantastic and reasonably priced!! Although the room was small, it had everything we needed and it was decorated nicely. We had floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the gardens on the property and the ocean. It was great waking up to such breathtaking view!! This boutique-style property has a lot of character and even has a little restaurant! The hotel is located in a very small town but only about 10 minutes away from Thames which is a much larger town than we expected. The owners were very gracious hosts and were able to accommodate us when we were not able to check-in before 8 PM. Also, we are very thankful that the owner warned us about the potential for mosquitoes and bug bites and that we should not open the windows or keep the doors for too long. My only complaint was that they did not have an email address on the Expedia booking confirmation to contact them directly before our arrival (only a phone number). We had mobile internet access but did not have access to a phone to call them. We had to borrow a phone from a nice local person that we ran into so that we could call them to let them know we were going to be arriving late. After our stay, we did go to their direct website and found an email address but we didn’t think to look there when we needed it. SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE!!!
This is a nice hotel with a commanding position on top of a hill with a great view, it is also a nice quite location away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland city, so very relaxing.
The staff are the owners and live on site, they are super friendly, and very accommodating
Drew and Christine went out of their way to provide local information. Access to their kitchen for morning coffee etc was a bonus. Beautiful location and gardens. A great first stop out of Auckland. The Coromandel forest is breathtaking
