When you drive up to the lodge, you think "What did I book myself into?" But once you get inside everything is fine. The AC definitely works, and the room has everything you need. A train does run behind the motel, but doesn't go often and doesn't sound it's whistle. The shower was a bit basic but it worked. You have to drive downtown to find a restaurant.

The hosts make the stay very welcoming with great conversations. Breakfast was cooked to order.
The pool and hot tub were a welcome break after the day of driving.
