"This is possibly the most charming hotels and place I can remember staying. It’s an old building in a harsh Scottish environment and that is part of its charm. If you want pristine decoration it’s not for you. If you want excellent hospitality, fantastic staff and walls full of the owner’s original art, go. Walk the Crinan trail - the view from the viewpoint is one of the best on a clear day (it is a steep walk though). A genuine Scottish gem."

"We had an early ferry to Islay the next morning, and the staff were so thoughtful to prepare our breakfast ahead of time and leave it at the front desk. Great service and nice, comfortable room. The hotel is also very close to the ferry terminal — only about a 10-minute drive, which was very convenient."

"The location was excellent. The house was well kitted out and had plenty of everything in kitchen living room etc. Had plenty of games to keep you amused. Local hotel was good and within 5 minutes walk. Shop nearby. Short distance to Portavadie and Colintraive that allowed access to ferries giving plenty of places to visit. Had amazing view and will hopefully be back next year. "
