Lovely spacious 6 BR home in St. Croix River valley
10/10 Excellent
"The Maple House was incredible! It was a perfect place for our family as we prepared for my wedding. Honestly, one of the best VRBOs we have ever stayed in. The hosts are wonderful, kind, and communicative from the time we initially reached out to inquire about the house until the day we left. We greatly appreciated having the space to spread out and turn it into "wedding central" with enough space to craft the boutonnieres, corsages, and bouquets, bake the "groom cookies" and even bake and decorate the wedding cake without running out of space. We greatly appreciated the abundance of towels, not only in the bathrooms, but also hanging on the back of bedroom doors which allowed us to keep track of them throughout the week. The luggage carts were an incredibly thoughtful addition and again, greatly appreciated as we made several trips in and out throughout the week. Though we didn't get a chance to use the grill or fire pit, we really loved being able to enjoy the Northwoods vibes on the property picnic table/chairs and in the sunroom. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the extra blankets and pillows in each room were very helpful when we were relaxing on the couch or debating what temperature to keep the house. The variety of coffee brewing options was great for 7 coffee lovers and the welcome gifts were very sweet. Importantly, our dear 17-year-old dog was welcome and very comfortable during our stay. 10/10 stars - we highly recommend the Maple House!"
"A step or two above average. Comfy mattress and quiet on the 3rd floor. Slept well. Breakfast well above average. We’ve been staying here ever since they opened. Well maintained."
"We had a little mixup when we checked in. Our code for the room we were assigned didn’t work, was given a 2nd code. However, the room was either not turned or was currently occupied (luckily there was no one there at the time) We were helped by a service agent over the phone. He stayed on the line with us until our situation was solved. He reassigned us a different room & a new code. It worked fine. The furnishings were on the cheaper side, the room was cute, clean, the beds & linens were comfortable. However, the regular price of $250-300+ is too much for this hotel. We got a much lower off-season rate of under $100 per night which was appropriate for this caliber property. The easy & quick access to our family was perfect. The added touch of a single use Kureg was nice, but it took some figuring out to operate as there was no on/off button, the K-cups were too low to be punctured & there was no directions. It turned out that it was ready to operate just by plugging it in. We just removed the coffee from the pods & put it in the basket for each cup. It was the 1st time we stayed at a hotel that was all virtual with no front desk attendant. However the over the phone service agent did a great job for us. If we can get a similar rate we would definitely stay there again."
"We have been all over the world and this was the best shower! Lots of pressure and flow! Bed was comfortable. Great check-in man Chris. Very quiet. Plenty of parking for trailers, trucks, etc. Room was a bit dated (1970's) but everything worked. Fun to reminisce looking at the avocado green laminate bath vanity."
"I had no complaints about my room or the interior of motel. Everyone was pleasant and very respectful. I wasn’t happy with the beer bottle lids and broken glass in the parking lot. It would have been nice if there had been more than 2 relatively small garbage containers on the premises. When I cleaned up after myself there was no place to put it because the garbage was overflowing"
"The room was clean. The front desk was not regularly staffed - had to call to get someone to come to the front desk per the sign taped to the desk - just didn't feel like a hospitality industry norm and very transactional (here is your room, gives us the money, go our seperate ways). We didn't see the staff the duration of our stay. The hotel has a LOT of security cameras throughout the public spaces. The hot tub had no air-jets and was WARM but not hot. The pool bathroom was out of service so patrons were instructed to walk back to their hotel room to use the restroom. Continental breakfast was...continental breakfast - waffles, apples, breads, burnt church coffee."
