"Great local hotel within easy walking distance from the train station in Tavira. Friendly welcoming staff on arrival and throughout our 4 night stay. Comfortable modern room with smart new bathroom and balcony overlooking well kept gardens. Decent sized outdoor swimming pool for a relaxing dip on an afternoon. Delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, nice selection of breads and choice of local speciality cakes & pastries. Brilliant value for money but a little bit on the outskirts of town so if you are happy to stroll 15 minute on an evening to the old town then this won't be an issue."

"What a great find. After coming to Tavira for over 35 years I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel. The staff are very good and the breakfast is lovely. The rooftop area is very relaxing with some great views over Tavira. All bars and restaurants are within a short walking distance. I will definitely stay here again."

"Residencial Mares' character could not be beat. We loved experiencing its original bones with some updated insides - showers had great water pressure, everything was in excellent condition, clean as a whistle despite age of original features and comfortable. Front desk host, Senhor Paulo, was lovely, welcoming and easy to talk to. The location was perfect as it is walkable to all things in town and right in front is the ferry to Tavira island. Parking for our rental vehicle was also free just down the street in a lot. Would absolutely return! Thank you for a wonderful stay!"
