HiGHLIGHTS
Japanese-inspired bathhouse accessed via timber walkway
5 private acres with farmland and wildlife views
Owner-built, thoughtfully designed loft
Sleeps 2–6 (ideal for couples)
Wood fire, open-plan living, and true country escape
Built by its owner before studying architecture, the loft reflects instinctive design thinking in every corner — thoughtful proportions, unique detailing, and a layout that feels natural yet surprising.
The Japanese-inspired bathhouse is the centrepiece. Enclosed but opening wide to the farmland beyond, it’s reached via timber duckboards from the loft. The deep soak bath is perfect for early mornings or evenings. The outdoor laundry is on the same walkway, blending convenience with gentle connection to the outdoors.
Inside, the open-plan living space features a wood fire, simple kitchen, books, board games, and Sonos speakers. No TV — just time to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the rhythm of country life.
Wildlife visits regularly — wombats, kangaroos, koalas, and echidnas — and the stars are spectacular at night. Surrounding farmland adds to the sense of space and calm.
WHO IT SUITS
Perfect for couples, or small groups comfortable with open layouts. Guests who enjoy quiet moments, thoughtful design, and connection to nature tend to love their stay. Liptrap Loft is unforgettable — but not for everyone.
BATHHOUSE AND POWDER ROOM
Main bath via timber walkway to Japanese-inspired bathhouse
Powder room (second toilet) outside near front door — not ideal for mobility issues

Excellent unique property providing an experience
I would recommend to anyone looking for their stay to provide a unique experience in a wonderful location. The loft is magnificent and the bath house enables you to enjoy the sunset or sunrise in such a beautiful setting. We visited in June and this place can be enjoyed year round.
I had high expectations with the photos and comments on reviews and I actually believe it comes up better then presented. Do yourself a favour and visit this wonderful loft it is well worth the money.
The place is everything it says on the box. A brilliantly one off property that relaxes you the minute you arrive but continues to surprise and delight as you explore further. The separate bathhouse is unique and a fantastic experience. Small touches such as a well stocked pantry (marshmellows and hot chocolate!!!) and plently of firewood enhance the experience. Fleur also provides a great list of things to do and see - not enough time to do them all but recommmend the Foster market, Guerneys Cidery and make sure you sample the local meats and cheeses! Do the Wilson's Prom Cruise from Tidal River. 2.5hrs of stunning scenery and adventure!
Everything (The Prom, Foster etc) is close enough but the location feels suitably isolated.
Make sure you at night you turn all the lights off, allow your eyes to adjust and then take in the stunning night sky - simply awesome. Plently of wombats and wallabies about as well.
Fleur was a pleasure to deal with, especially as we had to do a last minute date swap.
Beautiful cabin with a spectacular bathhouse. So very quiet, relaxing and completely private! We loved our three nights here and so did our two dogs. We hope to go back!
So many elements to this place. You have an expansive property for the dogs to run and explore in, with a little forest trail for good measure. The buildings are their own little zones with the bathhpuse a treat to shower with all the sliding doors ooen to the views. We loved the decor, the wifi and speakers made it great as we love good music sound when we are away. We will be back for a longer stay next.
This place is perfect for a few days escape with your partner or family. The house is very well though out, and the surrounding paddocks/bush really help to make you feel truly out on your own.
My husband and I spent three nights at Liptrap Loft along with our three legged dog. The property was so well equipped, we had everything that we needed to ensure a very relaxing time away. We only left the property for an hour to have a look at the surrounding area of Walkerville and Tarwin Lower. The cottage was so comfortable particularly with the wood heater going for the cold night and rainy day. The Japanese style bathroom is amazing with views of the lush paddocks adjoining the property. Our dog loved the freedom of exploring the tracks in the bush of the property and there was an abundance of wildlife with us seeing wombats and a koala. So many birds to see and hear making it so peaceful. I highly recommend a stay at Liptrap Loft both couples looking for a relaxing secluded getaway to families wanting to experience the bush in a beautiful space. Narelle
Such a wonderful quirky property to experience. Everything you needed was there in a spotless home and surrounds. There was three of us plus a four legged baby who enjoyed her stay as much as we did. The bird life was exceptional. We saw the resident Echidna sneeking off into the bush and the Willie Wagtails attending to their nest outside the lounge window. The beds were very comfortable and fun to sleep in the main area of the house...something different than being shut away in a bedroom. We stayed 3 nights and were able to cover lots of ground investigating the local beaches and towns...such a beautiful area and spectacular scenery both inland and at the sea.
Coming home from dinner at the The Fish Creek Hotel, we were so blessed to have a koala with her baby on her back trotting down the main road ahead of us. We stopped in front so she would go into the bush and off the road, which she did but once she was off the road and only a little way into the bush she turned and sat to have her and her baby photographed by us...what a treat!!!!..and then she trotted off into the bush.
We thank Fleur and Mike for sharing their piece of paradise and how every little detail was covered to make our stay most enjoyable, even mowing the grass to lead you into the hidden paths in the bush nearby. Anyone who wants to enjoy a stay in a fun but highly practical residence surrounded by lovely gum trees with an abundance of bird life will be rewarded.

Liptrap Loft was truely an experience to savour. Thank you Fleur for being attentive, informative and welcoming. The loft was so rejuvenating and interesting, we hardly wanted to leave it! The longer we stayed, the more detail we noticed in its wonderful design and style. We particularly enjoyed its cosy, homely atmosphere, the fire, and soaking in the open bathhouse of an evening . All this in a beautiful rural setting..... gang cockatoos in the trees, a resident koala. Even a “ magic beach” close by. The days rolled by.....It was easy to unravel here without a care in the world.
The Liptrap Loft really is a spectacular space. Beautiful architecture set on expansive acreage makes for the perfect secluded getaway.
Comfortable space with really everything you need. Warm, easy to heat, comfortable bed, sparkling clean, a pretty well stocked kitchen with a good selection of basics for cooking including spices, oils, sauces.
The bathhouse is amazing, especially on a cold and rainy day.
My only comment is that it isn't always easy to take your rubbish with you but that was only minor and we were informed of this prior to our arrival.
Great stay.. exactly right for us. Simple, elegant, basics done well.

A Happy Easter
We had the best stay at Liptrap Loft over the Easter Weekend. The loft was perfect for us and out three kids. Fleur was a pleasure to deal with leading up to our stay and warned us that it was very rustic. We loved it! Certainly a little bit different. It was very clean and well stocked with basic provisions, the fireplace was set and there was plenty of wood. The kids enjoys riding their bikes up and down the driveway while i relaxed in the hammock with a book. We had an outdoor fire where we cooked dinner most nights.Very private and peaceful. Highly recommend!

One of my favourite places
This was our second stay. The house has so much character and such a lovely ambiance. The kids love having their own room and it was so relaxing having the fire lit at night or soaking in the tub. One of my fav places! Highly recommended

Incredible
The house was an incredibly relaxing stay. The house was everything we expected and more it was very quirky but still very comfortable. The fire had plenty of wood which was the perfect way to heat up the house and keep it very toasty all night even though we had some wild weather. Fleur made it very easy to find out everything and gave us plenty of info for things to do around the place. We are looking forward to coming back in the future. Thank you!!

Fantastic property, tranquil setting.
Our second stay at this amazing place. Well maintained, so everything was just as good as our visit a year prior. Liptrap Loft is different and quirky but equally, very well equipped and clean. The setting is stunning. A unique, fun and relaxing place to stay.

INCREDIBLE stay, the most perfect weekend get away
We absolutely adored liptrap loft and cant wait to return.
Perfect for a romantic weekend away, the bathhouse and beautiful 4 poster bed make you feel very spoilt.
My now fiance proposed to me on one of the stunning nearby beaches, and coming back to liptrap loft was so special.
Its a beautiful property, very private and makes you feel relaxed the instant you arrive
