The Wee house was perfect in every way . We wanted a relaxing place with amazing views and not too far from the sea . We shall definitely be going back . Amazing host who left a welcome pack that was home made and had local produce. I can recommend this place enough

We had a lovely holiday after coming up for work related reasons.
We had a lovely holiday after coming up for work related reasons. We brought the dog up so he wouldn’t be home alone and there was plenty of beautiful walks in the area. The views from the cottage alone was absolutely amazing and very cosy cottage for the price. The hosts was very lovely even though there was little meeting them just due to COVID restrictions. Overall great holiday and would love to return and recommend to anyone who loves great walks and view.

As soon as I stepped into the cottage I felt wrapped in a lovely comforting blanket.
As soon as I stepped into the cottage I felt wrapped in a lovely comforting blanket. The owner, Elizabeth, showed me around and left an amazing welcome pack of home made bread, marmalade and a Victoria sponge, along with milk, cheese, and oatcakes. Although next door, the owners are not at all intrusive but are there if you need anything.
I found the cottage very relaxing. It is situated on the main Campbelltown road but I wasn't aware of road noise at night. The rear of the cottage looks over farmland to Jura. You can see the Islay ferry passing from Kennacraig. Although the lounge area isn't huge the French windows make it feel very spacious.
For those of you with dogs, a word of caution. Small dogs are perfect as there is an enclosed garden, however the fence is not high and a big dog would be out and over into the farmers field. As the cottage is on the main road I found it too stressful to walk my over inquisitive lab from the cottage and had to venture further in the car for all his walks. If you dont like getting in the car for the dog walk this is not the place for you.
This is a lovely area to explore. I particularly enjoyed the gardens at Arduaine, Machrihanish beach, Skipness and Tarbert.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely cottage, with the note about large dogs.

We had a wonderful time over Easter here.
We had a wonderful time over Easter here. Great views and a great base for exploring Kintyre peninsula. A field full of lambs out the back, a beach a 15 minute walk away and a great walk up and around the hill you can see out the back of the cottage. Clachan is a lovely village. Personally I think the cottage would be ok for 2 x adults and 2 x small children. We were 2 x adults and 1 x medium sized dog which was fine. The living room isn’t big enough for 4 x adults to be comfortable in. You’re also right on the main road which isn’t clear from the pictures but honestly it was set far enough back that it felt secure and was quiet enough. It was only the occasional motorbike flying past that woke us up in the morning. Highly recommended.

The cottage is fabulous, it is perfect for exploring Kintyre and idealy situated between Kennacraig and Tayinloan. Moreover it is only a short car trip to Tarbert and Campbeltown is only 30 mins away. It was warm enough, cosy and had everything that you could need or wish for. Cracking views to the paps on Jura to boot. It is tastefully decorated and Mrs. Ball was at hand with a run down of all that you needed to know. Furthermore provided us with a freshly baked loaf and lemon drizzle cake, both delish.
If I return to Kintyre for another holiday, I could not wish for a better base.
