Very happy with the beautiful home’s accommodations. Like the close in, yet large property with quiet & privacy and feeling of abundance. Interesting artwork, ethnic collections and artifacts. Cozy yet light / bright and spacious vintage home, updated in all the best ways. Really enjoyed our stay here! Hosts are communicative and kind.
We loved everything about this house. So close to downtown Taos, yet a large outdoor space with beautiful views. Home was well-appointed, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed every moment.
This home is absolutely amazing! Everything in and around the house has been done intentionally and beautifully! My family and I enjoyed our time here and would recommend it without hesitation! We look forward to spending another vacay here! The house is even better than we expected! We really enjoyed the prairie dog family!
This beautiful house is set off the road and has views of mountains. The interior is furnished with authentic New Mexico style furniture. The kitchen and dining area are large, well equipped and can accommodate family style dining. We found the heated floor a nice extra in the winter.
The house is stunning, appointed in the traditional SW style. It’s very comfortable with tons of windows and lots of room to lounge yet the bedrooms are nice and private. An easy walk through the park to downtown and a 30 minute drive to Taos Valkey ski area. We will be back.
This property is in a quiet neighborhood and has a great collection of artifacts. Central courtyard and yoga space were greatly appreciated. Mabel Dodge Luhan house is nearby for those interested in art and NM history.
The house is located close enough to the plaza that you can walk to the action, but is on a big lot and set back - it’s nice and quiet. You can watch the sunrise from the back patio - beautiful! We had a wonderful stay. The six of us had plenty of room. The living and dining areas encourage conversation. We’d love to stay again.
This home was nicer than expected. Location was perfect, condition upon arrival was pristine, decor was gorgeous right down to the beautiful dishes, and everything was in working order. As a bonus, the prairie dog colony entertained us each morning and evening.
An absolutely stunning home filled with natural light, showcasing beautiful artwork from around the world that added a unique and cultural charm. The spacious layout and large sunny areas created a warm, restful, and inviting atmosphere. Walking distance to galleries, shops, and wonderful restaurants. Stunning views of the mountains. James and Monica, our hosts, were accessible and graciously provided us with tips on restaurants, shopping, and local sights. A perfect retreat for relaxation and inspiration!
There are so many lovely pieces of pottery, art, and furniture in this house! We loved looking around and seeing yet another gem. The landscaping outdoors is lovely as well—the iris were in bloom when we were there. The property is a bit of a walk to town—with some seniors in our group, we drove. We also learned there are no Ubers or taxis in Taos, so plan to get yourself to/from anywhere you want to go. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of towels in the bathrooms and the kitchen was well stocked, including coffee and sugar. We only stayed 2 nights; I could easily see staying for a week.
Fantastic home for our family gathering. Exceptional kitchen with high quality cookware and beautiful pottery dishes and bowls. The house has a great layout with lots of comfortable sitting areas and a large kitchen table. The decor and furnishings are first rate. The house is within easy walking distance of all the main parts of the Taos shopping and dining areas. Absolutely a 5 star property and we give it our highest recommendation!
Best VRBO ever. Loved the home, location, decor, everything about this house. We are planning a longer vacation as soon as we all can get together and afford it. This home will be a priority to rent again. Can't find a flaw for adults. The multi levels and decor could be an issue if children are not really well behaved. But location and home CANNOT be topped.
Everyone who visited during our 2-week stay loved the house and said it feels like being in the country though it's right in town. The main drag (Paseo del Norte/Sud) is a short walk away through Kit Carson Park. Days were warm in July but nights were cool and we didn't even use the A/C. The house is well-designed with bedrooms (great beds!) in a separate wing from the living/kitchen area and lots of comfortable seating for reading and watching the ever-changing sky -- not to mention the prairie dogs. Responsive owners. A great VRBO find.
We had a small family reunion at this property for 5 days and nights. It was a beautiful property, adorned with local art and artifacts. We especially loved the Jim Wagner touches. We had a very minor issue with the plumbing and the owner had it fixed it extremely promptly. We couldn't be happier with this property and would recommend it. Close to the square and with a fabulous view. 10 stars!
All 4 of us loved the house! It was the best equipped and most uniquely furnished of any VRBO we have rented.
(And there have been many!) The yoga mat was a welcome surprise and I used it every morning. Thank you for leaving iPod tunes for us to enjoy and sing and dance to in the evenings. Sitting on the patio, experiencing the quiet beauty and occasional bunny or magpie was bliss!
And our elderly bodies especially appreciated the very comfortable beds! Best place to walk to for food and live music? The Taos Inn! Thank you!
The house, its location, and its furnishings are all beautiful! Our favorite parts included the handmade pottery (plates, bowls, mugs), the lovely southwestern style decor, and the gorgeous views in all directions. Everything we needed (kitchen, paper products, bathroom supplies) was kindly furnished, and the whole process of getting access as well as preparing for departure was easy and fully explained. Although we were there in winter, the yard around the house was just as wonderful as the inside. Tons of birds, mountain views, and lovely scenery.
Some short term rentals feel more like generic hotel suites. Here, we knew we had been privileged to stay in James and Monica's home. We were there over the Christmas holiday with our family, and the chance to stay here made it very special. Exceptional location in every way!
Beautiful historic property with great views of the surrounding mountains. Property is on top notch condition, well organized. Everything you need is there. Being a winter stay house was snug and warm in the snow. New water heater and furnace.
But best of all this is a five minute walk to the heart of Taos, which we enjoyed doing every evening in the snow. It was magical. We skiied at both Taos Ski Valley and Angel Fire. This property is an easy 30 minute drive to each and perfect base location if you want to go to both. The Rio Grande gorge is only 15 minutes away for amazing hiking and spotting some Rocky Mountain Bighorns.
The property owners were very responsive, very helpful and it was a pleasure and relaxing to be here. We will be back.
