Family vacation

What a great home! From the moment we all walked in, we new we picked the right place. Our Host was wonderful, helping us navigate some of the area sites. The beach club was an absolute plus on those days you just want to relax, or staying at the villa, both beautiful choices. We all agreed it was a great vacation!

Beautiful House

The house was beautiful and loved our stay there. The complex is still being developed, but that didn't bother us. Definitely would love to go back. The property management company was very responsive and helpful.

FANTASTIC

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! We had such a great time and I can't say enough good things about Villa Nalu. This place is tucked back into the foliage, surrounded by beautiful trees, palms and fronds...so cool. Not to mention, the house is super private with the golf course behind and mature trees on either side. Families and friends will love this place!

Zen with a touch of monkey

We had a wonderful time at Villa Nalu! The home was beautiful, the grounds were well kept and the howler monkeys were kind enough to let us sleep in until 5am (haha). It was absolutely amazing to be so close to them and the kids loved it. Thank you Hilda for preparing us breakfast and for keeping us neat and tidy all week. This was our third trip to Costa Rica and by far our best. Thank you to Joel, David and the team for being there when we needed you. Pura Vida! Brian

Family Vacation

Our time at Villa Nalu was absolutely amazing. The guys golfed while the ladies lounged by the pool/beach. We had the house stocked with groceries and hired Garrett to cater a meal, both were great additions to our trip. We thought we were renting cars, however they ran out so that would be the only downfall. The house is about 40 min from Tamarindo so getting a van to fit 9 to go to town was a bit of a hassle but we figured it out and the Marriott close by was helpful as well.. Overall it was a great trip and Joel was super helpful in helping plan and make accommodations for us.

Fantastic Experience

We love Hacienda Pinilla, and could not have been more satisfied with our stay. We booked this house with a large group for my wedding, and loved it just as much as our guests. Joel is a fantastic property manager - he is extremely responsive, and knows the area like the back of his hand. This minute we walked into Casa Nalu, everything was perfect. Fresh towels, an immaculately clean house, and even a bag of coffee waiting for us. The house is great for entertaining, especially with the doors open at night, the wind blowing, and a few burgers on the grill. We'll be back!

Loved this home

Beautiful home, and peaceful location. Our group of 6 had a wonderful experience at Villa Nalu! Golf cart was definitely a bonus with this home, as it made it much easier to get to the beach club which we spent a ton of time at. Housekeeper did a fabulous job, we were very happy to have her there almost every day taking care of us. We were in awe of our daily visits by the howler monkeys, what a bonus! Just an overall fabulous experience. Joel was very responsive to any needs or questions, and was so pleasant to deal with. Don't miss this one, you won't regret it!

Family gathering in Costa Rica, 2023

Walking into the home was impressive from the start! Beautiful setting in a jungle like atmosphere, complete with a howling monkey family greeting us and the day at 4 am. There were some issues: neighborhood construction sometimes started very early, and the house Wi-Fi was out of service for all rooms except the main for 3+ days. With that exception, Joel, Mergi and staff were very receptive and helpful to every request.

Perfect place to be in Tamarindo! Wether you are a surfer or just want to relax and have fun.

I absolutely recommend staying at casa Maracuya! Beautiful tropical villa! brand new, state of the art decoration, air conditioners everywhere (which are a must during summer time...) and a great living space - with all glass doors opening up to the pool and the tropical reserve just behind it. The house has a perfect location - no neighbors, alot of privacy and still really safe. We were two families of four - and we fit perfectly. Joel was quick to respond to our needs and the housekeeping lady couldn't be more sweet and efficient. Oh! And the open air showers are amazing! We will definatly be back sometime soon...

Amazing Home and Location

We had a group of friends stay at Vila Nalu. The house did not disappoint. It is just as beautiful as the pictures. We had an amazing time. We all instantly fell in love with our housekeeper, Hilda. She is a gem. She cooked us delicious breakfasts and always had a smile on her face. Joel and Mergie were amazing. Anything we needed help with, they were on it. They were always friendly, helpful and quick to respond. Our entire group loved the home and the surrounding area. We all plan to return. Pura Vida!

Incredible Adventure - Beautiful home with the BEST Team ever

Thank you so much to Joel, Mergie and the rest of their team for making our vacation come together so smoothly. It was a challenge behind the scenes to coordinate 11 people coming and going at different times but we pulled it off and made wonderful family memories we will always treasure. Villa Nalu is the perfect spot for families and couples to come together to celebrate life. It is laid out perfectly so everyone has their own space but comfortable enough for groups to gather together and relax, enjoy the pool, gorgeous home, and delicious Costa Rican cuisine. Not to mention the monkey family that would frequently visit. We loved the Beach Club- it was quiet and convenient but if we really wanted our own private beach, Langosta was a quiet paradise! Pangas in Tamarindo was a hit. Serendipity sailing was our favorite day on the water- they treated us well and the boat is gorgeous! Yoga at Lola's was wonderful. Puravida Catering was such a treat! So much we had them come three times. Thanks to Mergie, Joel and Ronal for navigating all of this for us. We would definitely love to go back to Villa Nalu!

Beautiful home

The home was beautiful and in good working order . The home was very clean inside and out, Ilda made sure it was clean everyday. Ilda was the best and helped us with anything that we needed. She took her time and showed us how everything worked and we were very thankful for that. She gave us a tour of the house and showed us how to use the PIN codes because we were having issues the day we arrived. The howler monkeys visited everyday and it was a fantastic experience. We had great communication with the host while booking and arrivals. Once in the Villa it wasn’t that easy to reach them and required a few messages on different platforms to get response. Hopefully this will be rectified since we plan to visit agin. There is construction going on all over the community and a new home being built right next door , they start early in the morning but it was not an issue for us since we got up early to go on our adventures for the day. If noise is an issue then request one of the other properties that they own . Even though there were some small issues there is always room for improvement . We really enjoyed our stay and we definitely plant to rent one of the villas again next year .

Amazing vacation home!

Villa Nalu is the perfect vacation home within the luxurious Hacienda Pinilla community. Joel is the angel of the property, he's so very helpful with any of your needs. He arranged transportation to and from the airport which is about an hour or so drive, and connected us with Xplore Costa Rica-highly recommend for zip line, river tubing, and Palo Verde tours; Joel also helped arrange a fabulous sunset catamaran tour. Ronald, our driver, was also so very helpful, he stopped for groceries, and loaded and pushed our grocery cart. He climbed up on the van to get luggage up/down, and even found our teenager's cell phone which he left in the van on our departure! While staying at Villa Nalu, you have access to the JW Marriott Restaurants and its beach Playa Mansita; the Playa Club is a quick morning jog away and has a terrific restaurant/bar with friendly staff, as well as a gym, and beautiful infinity pool area. Playa Longosta was our favorite beach, a short golf cart ride away brings you to soft sand and incredible sunsets. There is a mini Mart nearby within Hacienda Pinilla with some groceries available. We usually saw monkeys or other wildlife along the way to the beach club or Langosta; so fun for all of us to stop and enjoy watching. The home is equipped with everything you could want. Alva is the wonderful housekeeper who comes almost everyday. There is a refreshing pool in your backyard living area to lounge nearby and enjoy a tasty cup of Costa Rican coffee. The only downside to our trip I will mention is a phone and in person interaction with the owners of the golf cart rental, who I personally found to be poor listeners and short tempered when on our third vacation day we needed a new charger for one of the carts; our concerns were never fully validated. However, this is in no way a reflection of the property or its manager. We would definitely return to Villa Nalu!

Relaxing stay

Family spring break trip from Atlanta. The property was super clean and as advertised, Hilda was amazing. We were a little disappointed we didn’t know how big the community was. Tamarindo was a 30 min drive which is basically the closest town, grocery store, and restaurants. You have to drive for about 5 minutes on an unpaved gravel road with a ton of potholes to get to the community and there are speed bumps everywhere to regulate speed. The club was super nice and a lifesaver due to the drive anywhere else. Great trip altogether.

Villa Nalu

Eight of us, ages 8-74, arrived around noon, which was earlier than the check in time. The hostess was there to greet us, and the cleaners were just finishing up and they let us store our bags and change so we could go off to the beach. The place is just so, welcoming, tropical and very private. It’s very comfortably furnished with an ample kitchen, which is what we needed as we wanted to cook a lot of our dinners. It’s a 5 Bedroom Pl., but we only needed four of the bedrooms. The pool is perfect temperature and is clean daily. There is a six seated golf cart available which we used all the time to get to and from the beach and to and from the Marriott or the beach club for the gym, the pool, the beach, and the snack bar. We did rent two cars which we needed for our various activities…It is a little bit far from Tamarindo , but once we made the trip once or twice, we felt comfortable navigating it and getting into Tamarindo for different activities. We would definitely come back here again. Jose, Mergie and Tati were so helpful before we came and I am sure if we had needed them they would have been right there. Hilda our daily helper was kind and let us practice our Spanish with her.

5 couples vacay in CR

Property is beautiful with great style and functionality! The maid Hilda as wonderful! Great recommendations for massages, excursions, catering ( we did Pure Vida Catering 3 nights and the chef& food were fantastic-chocolate volcano cake was incredible). Having We golfed, scuba dived, and usedthe local pool club. Unfortunately, the JW Marriott had no availability for any meals or day passes.

Amazing! Didn’t want to leave

The hosts were quick to respond and help with our many requests for suggestions, help booking, even for last minute needs. The house is perfect for relaxing and spreading out. I highly recommend staying within Hacienda Pinilla with the beach club and the Marriott as options. We toured the Marriott but didn’t feel the need to buy the day pass. We preferred spending the $10 entry at the beach club and using that toward their delicious food and drinks. You need to get there fairly early for chairs during peak times. The hosts know all of the best tours m, etc in the area- so instead of searching around yourself- go with their connections. We did a full day tour using expeditions. Carlos was amazing- picked us up and drove almost 2 hours to the La Leona waterfall hike. There were many tour groups there - but it seemed like the guides we were with had some sort of ‘clout’ and expertise and got us places on the hike with expedited priority. Highly recommend. Then we had lunch, and off to tubing down a river. So fun for everyone. He then got us safely home- with a few stops at needed stores along the way so we didn’t have to go back out! We also used an amazing private chef one night at their recommendation. It was delicious- a taco bar by Daniela with Main Course. She was great to work with and stayed within our budget. We also took their suggestion for surf lessons using Nico. He is normally in Tamarindo but came to us at Avellana w/enough extra instructors for our group.

My 40th Birthday celebration

First of all this property is gorgeous and the pictures are on point. Tamarindo isn't too far, about 30 minutes and we were able tonget an uber back one day. We really enjoyed our stay and it was easy to get in contact with any questions we had. Hilda was amazing and so sweet, we ordered the pangas breakfast and she made it all so delicious. We were going on a full day excursion one day and asked if she could make and leave us her yummy rice and beans with the leftovers we had. We didn't have any more beans, but she was so kind to get them for us when she went to the store (we gave her the money ofcourse). We love the fact that a golf cart was included, it definitely helps to get around to the beach club and JW Marriott. The maid service was definitely a plus and the property was very clean. I know it is expected in Costa Rica, all of the different bugs and insects and especially because of the rain. However, the only issue we had was towards the last 2 nights of our stay, in 2 of the rooms there were alot of these bugs which they referred to as ants crawling all over the beds and a pile of them on the floor so the girls ended up sleeping on the couch. Make sure you have tons of bug spray! Also, note that the 2 rooms which are on the outside so you have to walk out of the back door, the restroom shared out there can get a little muggy. Other than that I would still highly recommended this property! Pura Vida!!
