Lakefront Southern Charm with private dock

This Florida vacation home located on a beautiful lake in North Florida is just what you are looking for! Enjoy a relaxing and peaceful vacation away from it all. This 2800 square foot home is located on Cherry Lake, Madison County, Florida. Beautifully decorated with southern charm.

Enjoy the crystal clear waters of this spring-fed lake nestled in a very rural setting just two hours from Jacksonville, one hour from Tallahassee and just 30 minutes from Valdosta, GA. Cherry Lake is ideal for swimming, skiing, tubing, jet skis, and fishing. Large mouth bass and fresh water brim are plentiful in Cherry Lake.

Bring your boat and enjoy your favorite water sports. It is approximately a mile in diameter, almost a perfect circle in shape with a total of about 500 acres. This home has its own private dock. There are two bedrooms with a king-size bed in each, one upstairs and one down. The third bedroom has two queen beds and the fourth bedroom has two double beds, both located upstairs. There is an additional room with two twins off the downstairs bedroom, and a small room with one twin and a crib adjoining the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you will need for large family meals. There is a Keurig and a drip coffee maker. Linens are provided.

In the evening enjoy a marshmallow roast or a campfire sing-along in the outdoor campfire area. Whether you're a golf enthusiast or an amateur, you will love our Golf Pong game. Putters and balls are provided. Fishing equipment is provided and there is no license required to fish from the dock. Get out on the water with the use of a kayak or paddle board provided for your fun and enjoyment. Life vests are also available for your use. For the young or the young at heart, a 50 foot rope swing is a thrilling good time for all. A huge yard provides space for yard games and plenty of space for the little ones to run around.

Girl Scout Troop trip

This place was awesome and exactly what my troop needed. Very clean, very pretty and plenty of room for us to spread out. The house was well kept and the kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. Couldn’t have asked for a better location for our troop trip to Wild adventures!

Peaceful Retreat

Great place to have family gathering. Offers a lot of room for everyone with three bathrooms and a half. Gorgeous views of the lake and lots of room to play in the backyard.

Great house in quiet area

Loved the house for the eight of us staying. Plenty of space for us to all hang out and also have our own privacy when wanted. Kids loved the lake to paddle board and swim.

View of the lake and sunset was great.

Our family loves to cook. We were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen was so well appointed. Even in the cooler weather we enjoyed spending time in the dock. The sunsets over the lake were icing on the cake!

Memorial Day Weekend Fam & Friends

We had an absolute blast! The property was AMAZING! The pictures that are posted doesn't do the house, lake, property any of it justice. You have to see it to believe it. We went to the springs, the swimming hole on the lake, fishing, trail riding, decided not to go to wild adventures because there was so much to see an do in the area. We had a minor AC issue but the property owner corrected it and was completely attentive and got it taken care of immediately. .We will be back in the fall to do some more bass fishing!

Beautiful view

Pictures do not do this place justice. We enjoyed a relaxing week. Quality time with family. Home is well equipped for lots of family and friends. Very kid and pet friendly. Kitchen ware, pot, pans, etc well stocked. The grill is clean and cooks evenly. The wrap around porch kept the grandchildren fully entertained. The lake is crystal clear. Nice little beach and playground around the lake. Owner is very responsive.

Perfect location for a women's retreat

I hosted a women's retreat here and it was absolutely perfect. The area is extremely quiet and peaceful. There is plenty of room to spread out to have quiet alone time or to gather together as a group and sit for learning sessions. Every single one of the women who attended loved the place and we all voted to come back again!

Many years staying here. Always fun. Lots of room. Lake and boating were great as always. Only a few boats were out all week so made great skiing for the kids. Very well furnished kitchen. Had everything you need. Great for family to come together.

Nice place, beautiful view, great porch, plenty of beds. Only negative was that there was hair in the master bed when we arrived. Other beds seemed ok. Otherwise the place was very clean and well maintained. Sunsets were spectacular!

A Touch of Southern Paradise

This lake house is beautiful in itself - both inside and out - and then you add the gorgeous surroundings and serenity that the property offers around the house and you have the recipe for a heavenly, relaxing and romantic escape from the hustle and bustle of the chaotic world around you. As advertised, the sunsets were extraordinary and the night sky away from the city reveals a billion stars which are also reflected in the lake on calm evenings. Come prepared as this somewhat remote slice of paradise is a 15 minute drive from the nearest restaurant or grocery store and pickings are slim..

Return to Cherry Lake

14 years ago, we stayed at the rental property next door and said one day, we would like to stay at Southern Charm. As a special Christmas gift, I rented the house for the family and we had a great time. We took the grandchildren to Wild Adventures to see the Nights of Lights, but I believe they had a better time playing at the house. There was plenty of towels, linens, and kitchen accessories. Only concern is no childproof locks on the exit doors of the house. Our 4 year old loved the dock. The hurricane did some damage. The playground set is gone and some of the trees are down, but overall, this is a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the wrap around porch, fun to chase the kids around on. Thank You for allowing My Family to enjoy Your Home!

Family get-together

We've stayed at quite a few VRBOs and this is definitely in our top 3. The house is absolutely beautiful with the view of the lake and cypress trees. We live in SWFL and my sister in law lives in Pensacola so we wanted to meet halfway to get the family together. We had 7 adults and 7 kids and it was plenty big. Kids between ages 1-13 and they all had a blast. The rope swing is so much fun, there's a little playground, and a pool table upstairs. We brought fishing poles, cornhole, horseshoes, and board games. The yard is huge. No luck fishing lol and it rained one of the days, but our last night there the sunset was BEAUTIFUL! Owners were very responsive, place was clean, quite a few extra blankets, and the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware/utensils/coffee pot/Keurig/crockpot, etc. And there's a gas grill on the porch. Highly recommend!

The facility itself was basically clean we did have to clean the refrigerator when we got there. Property could use curb appeal and paint on the inside and outside. Upstairs where the pool table was could use some blinds because the sun is very bright and hot in the area and there is dry rot in the window seal. Overall, all the rooms and bathrooms were clean and adequate space for all of us. Beautiful lake view and accessibility. We enjoyed our stay.
