"It doesn't look much from the outside and it is dated, but what it lacks in frills, it makes up for with a perfect location: 100 metres from the railway art park and downtown bus station. Breakfast was OK and it has free bikes. A comfortable bed too."

"Wonderful stay. Clean and quiet. 8 mins drive to the Taitung train station. Walking distance to the weekend night market. Most importantly, the staff are super helpful and kind, going all out to assist us in renting of a motorcycle, or giving us directions. We really feel very comfortable staying here. "

"We rented scooters and parking is right at the doorstep. The area is really convenient with lots of dining, shopping and massage options within walking distance. It’s a self-service hotel and we ran into some difficulties during check-in. Thankfully, a sister hotel is just a block down and a staff came over to help after we gave them a ring. The room was nicely laid out, but there were some issues (although none was a deal breaker) - the corners of the upper bunk bed was slight dusty (a common problem for hotels with bunk beds, I’ve experience it even in Japan and Switzerland), the shower foam dispenser came loose. "I have visited Taitung twice in the past year and both times I stayed at the Fish Hotel. The downtown location is unbeatable and the hotel has its own parking lot across the street, solving the parking question. The staff greets everyone who enters the lobby and communicated the check-in information clearly. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and both times I've had a good view of the city."
