Off-Grid Peak Cabin Great for Fall Leaf Peepin’
Brand new off-grid Norwegian property located at the highest point on a mountain with the highest elevation (9,225’) for 10 miles with a 280 degree view of Tabernash, Fraser and Winterpark. Plenty of hot water for our 4 guests, pots pans, coffee maker, etc.
Enjoyed choppin wood, enjoying the views from all the windows and looking at the millions of stars at night on the new deck and watching our whippet chase all the chipmunks. Was fortunate to time our trip with the Peak Leaf Peepin. Lots of Aspen on the property that were amazing to look at during crisp morning sunrise. Lucky to be first to witness it. Book your trip now for next year!

A beautiful spot!
It can't be overstated--the view here is amazing! It's also a wonderful spot as far as location--you feel like you've truly gotten away from it all, but you're only 15 minutes from Fraser if you need to go to a grocery store, etc.

Grand Views and Clean House
This house had everything we wanted out of our weekend getaway with visiting friends and their two young kids. The outdoor deck area was perfect for enjoying meals, sunsets, chatting by the fire and stargazing. The beds are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked with the essentials. The kids made use of some of the toys and crayons. Overall, great trip and we hope to be back!
Gorgeous views and great cabin! Truly better than we expected.

Peaceful Mountain Escape – Perfect for Families
We stayed at Hytta Hyggelig in late May as a family of five (my wife and I, plus our three kids), and it was an incredible experience. The home is beautifully designed and thoughtfully laid out—plenty of sleeping space, including a fun loft that our kids loved. While there’s only one bathroom, the space still worked great for us.
The panoramic mountain views are simply stunning. Each morning we had breakfast while watching the sunrise over the peaks, and in the evenings we could see the lights twinkling from Tabernash and Winter Park in the valley below—yet all you could hear was nature. Deer wandered right up to the windows, and chipmunks kept the kids entertained. It was peaceful, quiet, and exactly the kind of getaway we were hoping for.
We appreciated the focus on nature and simplicity—no TVs cluttering every room, but instead lots of big, operable windows to let the mountain air in. The tri-fold glass door in the living room was a great touch, really opening the space up to the outdoors.
The property is fairly new, so some of the exterior landscaping is still in progress, with a few piles of trees and leftover construction debris, but it didn’t take away from the experience. We were a little disappointed that the hot tub wasn't available for use and that the "gas grill" turned out to be more of a flat-top griddle, but we made it work.
Even though it felt remote and private, we were just 15 minutes from Granby for groceries and restaurants. We also visited Hot Sulphur Springs one day, which made for a great outing, and it was so nice to come back to the calm and comfort of Hytta Hyggelig afterward.
Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful mountain retreat, especially for families who want to unplug and reconnect.
