The best time to visit Szegi is during the late spring to early autumn months, from May to September, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.

May and June offer comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, with lush green landscapes and fewer crowds than the peak summer months. This period is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or cycling in the nearby Zemplén Mountains, or for wine enthusiasts looking to visit the local vineyards before the main harvest season.

July and August are the warmest months, with temperatures often reaching up to 30°C. This is great for travellers who wish to enjoy the Tisza River, which is a short drive away, for activities such as boating or fishing. Many local festivals and events also take place during the summer, offering a glimpse into Hungarian culture.

September brings slightly cooler temperatures, usually between 10°C and 20°C, and the start of the grape harvest in the Tokaj wine region. This is a particularly good time for couples interested in wine tourism, as many wineries offer special tours and tastings.
