There is so much beauty at Oak Openings. Twisted trees and dense forest and deer. Just amazing.
Know all over Ohio as the Ohio PNW tall pine spot, this place doesn’t disappoint. Although I suggest coming when it’s a bit drier out. The mosquitos were ridiculous!! Now this is one unexpected composition! A mushroom, possibly a morel (Morchella esculenta?), pushing up through a patch of eastern prickly pear (Opuntia humifusa). I never imagined that my outdoor mushroom photographing and my greenhouse succulent/cacti propagating worlds would end up intermingled while hiking Kitty Todd State Nature Preserve.

Great staff, gave us a refund as the room was atrocious, greasy and smelled like urine. Police also arrived to pick up someone. Stay away unless you are of the element that stay there!
