  • Khao Sok National Park was dedicated in December 1980, and shortly thereafter dammed in 1982 creating the largest freshwater lake in Thailand, known as Cheow Larn Lake. It then witnessed guerrilla warfare, providing an ideal location for natural protection, which ultimately discouraged logging and hunting industries from taking form. The hotel was clean and comfortable. There was a small breakfast included which consisted of toast, egg, fruit and coffee / hot chocolate. The hotel is in the country so there isn’t much around. It is next to the river and close to the dam. There were a few restaurants a short drive away.

We called before 6pm, explaining that we will arrive "at 11pm", they said "OK" . We arrived at 11pm, nobody was there in the reception, everything closed, TV on in their office and I can hear noise inside, but nobody answered the door despite many knocks. A horrible experience to drive half a night - advise the hotel - only for them to not listen and still close their office and then accept the money?! This is the type of hotel to avoid, they do not speak English well, do not listen, and do not accept refunds. We stayed nearby at ST resort that same night and Wow what a blessing. You judge a hotel by their ability to listen, and implement especially when you communicate properly. Do NOT recommend this place, there are others nearby more responsible.

Les propriétaires de cette pension familiale sont vraiment très gentils et serviables. Nous avons réservé l’excursion d’une journée sur le lac avec eux et nous avons passé une journée fantastique. Avons également réservé les transferts en mini-van. La chambre était propre avec une très jolie vue. Une peu bruyante car située sous la terrasse du petit déjeuner. Idéale pour les lève-tôt !

Ne venez pas !

Que dire si rien n'était bien... A l'exception du prix (et encore). On a très vite regretté notre choix même si on s'avait qu'on y était que pour dormir. Mais l'hôtel parait abandonné, ça ressemble plus à un chantier de construction qu'un hôtel. La chambre fait sale, cheap et très vieillotte ! Je parle même pas de la SDB qui ne donne absolument pas envie d'aller prendre une douche. La porte d'entrée de la chambre est une baie vitrée qui se ferme avec un cadenas... Les lits disposent d'une converture en velour qu'on a pas envie de mettre sur soit, les lits sont dures, la lumière est très faible. De plus, si comme nous vous n'étiez pas véhiculé, il n'y absolument rien à côté (restaurants, lieux touristiques), on pensait faire tout à pied mais les distances sont énormes et longues (c'est montagneux et escarpé). Le petit-déjeuner est une grosse blague... on vous met à disposition un sachet de pain de mie et un grille pain, des confiture et bouteille d'eau. Faut attendre un bon 20 min pour que quelqu'un vienne vous demandez si vous souhaitez une omelette ou un oeuf au plat (sans goût) et on vous ramène une petite assiète de fruits. Qu'on soit 1 ou 4 les quantités sont les mêmes... Je finirai sur le seul point positif, le réceptionniste qui a bien voulu nous amener au centre-ville avec sa voiture.

Lebensgefahr! Das erste was ich getan habe nachdem ich eingecheckt habe, war auf die Toilette zu gehen und mir dort auch gleich einen Stromschlag zu holen. Das zweite war zurück zum Baan Suan Hill Resort zu gehen, wo ich bereits zuvor zwei Nächte verbracht habe, damit sie mir einen Transport für die Weiterreise organisieren. Ich hatte zwei Nächte gebucht und bereit bezahlt, aber das war mir egal, ich wollte gleich am nächsten Tag von dort verschwinden. Das Resort ist heruntergekommen. Das offene Badezimmer (Dusche/Badewanne/Waschtisch) ist vergammelt. Bei Regen sitzt man auf dem WC nicht auf dem trocknen. Das schlimmste ist jedoch dass das Regenwasser aus der Rinne direkt über den Lichtschalter tropft. Aquarien können dekorativ sein. Bei jenen im Speisebereich konnte ich kaum glauben, dass dort tatsächlich noch Fische lebten, oder eher vor sich hin vegetieren. Wenn du etwas in der Nähe suchst, buche unbedingt im Baan Suan Hill Resort. Dort habe ich mich wie zu Hause gefühlt und ich habe es bereut dass ich nach meiner zwei Tagestour auf dem See nicht auch wieder dort gebucht habe.

Leider ein Reinfall! Ungepflegte Anlage , minimalistisch ohne Liebe… Die kleinen Bungalows waren jedoch sauber. Ansonsten keine Infrastruktur, nix zu trinken oder Essen. Frühstück nur das aller nötigste. Betten sind sehr Hart !

Nettes Guesthouse direkt am Fluss

Wir waren in diesem Guesthouse für eine Übernachtung. Da wir im dunkeln angereist und auch im dunkeln wieder abgereist sind, können wir nichts über die weitere Umgebung dieses Guesthouse schreiben. Wir hatten einen Bungalow, welcher sehr nett und mit Freude am Details gestaltet wurde. Es war sauber, die Klimaanlage funktionierte und es war ein tolles Ambiente. Da wir schon sehr früh am Morgen ( 5.45 Uhr ) abgereist sind, wurde uns im Frühstücksbereich Brot, Butter, Marmelade sowie Kaffee und Tee bereitgestellt. Ich gehe also mal davon aus, dass die Besitzer hier bei Sonderwünschen sehr flexibel sind.
