" We have been staying at this property since its Hyatt days, which makes this February visit even more disappointing. Four families travelled from different cities to celebrate an 80th birthday. Despite sharing all booking details in advance, there were repeated lapses. I received an incorrect airport pickup call meant for another guest, and the response from the front office was a routine, mechanical apology with no ownership. More seriously, although all four rooms were booked under my ID and secured with my credit card, the staff asked my father-in-law and sister-in-law for their cards and charged ₹50,000 to my sister-in-law without authorisation. Even after raising the issue, the amount has not been reversed 12 days later. On checkout, I was again asked about collecting payments from others, forcing me to settle everything myself to avoid further confusion. The property is lovely, but the front office operations are deeply disappointing. A milestone family celebration was overshadowed by preventable errors and poor handling."

"There were unexpected charges related to the age of my children. I booked for two adults and two children but had to pay £230 extra for my oldest child upon arrival. Hotel subsequently realised that the charge was not entirely correct but only partially compensated me. The breakfast was excellent and the service at the breakfast was wonderful. However service at the restaurant during the dinners was less good. Hotel prices for the wine are not reasonable. More than £40 for a bottle of local wine (which is the cheapest option) is not market standard. Beach is wonderful and location and distance to the beach is perfect. Swimming pool and garden are outstanding. There were a lot of mosquitoes inside of our room and hotel, much less of them if dining in one of local huts on the beach. "

"We spent 3 weeks at Martin’s Comfort - late January to mid February. Our initial impressions were mixed, our room was great, really clean, lovely comfortable extra wide double bed, generous sized bathroom, balcony, good furniture with plenty of storage. We were initially concerned by the state of the swimming pool which was suffering an algae bloom - very green - and wasn’t usable. However during the next few days this was sorted out by the staff and it was lovely to have it back in use - not a huge pool but quiet and big enough to swim lengths - looked to be about 10m x 4m. The hotel has a beautiful array of pot plants, trees and shrubs throughout and these are really well looked after. The breakfasts were very good, a range of buffet items including toast, butter, jam, chicken sausages, idli, bhaji, rolls, fruit, fruit juice with freshly cooked eggs to order as well as puri to order. Worth noting that the hotel is opposite Martin’s Corner restaurant which is large and very busy with regular live music. This didn’t disturb us but you can hear the music in the background until 10.30-11.00 at night. Overall highly recommended and can properly be described as a boutique hotel. We look forward to our next visit. "

"Check-in was efficient and because we arrived earlier than check-in time the luggage was kept safe and staff transported it to our room while we investigated the area. We stayed 6 nights in the luxury garden room which was good sized with 2 balconies, one overlooking treed area with birds etc. All amenities were as advertised. Housekeeping was good with the added touch of towel art displayed on the bed. Would avoid rooms in the Zajeo as the noise from the kitchen/bar area (eg. generators, moving of gas bottles, breakfast preparation) either kept us awake or woke us up so an undisturbed sleep was difficult. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Nice pool area, though could do with more padded mats for the beach beds. General location was good, 10 minutes walk to the beach, bars/restaurants in one direction and shops/bars/restaurants/bank in the other. Nicely maintained public areas and grounds."
