Open and comfortable with a fully appointed kitchen (including cutlery, cookware, dinnerware, dishwasher, coffee pot, microwave, full size stove and refrigerator/freezer), Cable TV (2), wireless internet, CD player, DVD player, ceiling fans (indoors & out), a screened front porch, covered back porch, roof deck, washer/dryer and gas grill. Recently painted and updated indoors and out, it has all you need for a great vacation at the beach. Departure housekeeping is included for weekly rentals. The pictures on the website don’t do the home justice. It’s truly beautiful inside, with a new couch, screened in porch, nice sized kitchen, comfortable beds, 5 minute walk from the beach.

Perfect place

Great home on Sunset beach! This house is in a great location and is clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. Grocery store in main town not far. Everything was perfect!

Grand babies first visit to beach

It was a week of excitement and firsts for the kids. Even my grown children acted like kids. House was awesome, good location to beach, clean and exactly size we needed for our family. Bill was awesome at answering anything I asked. Definitely want to plan another family vacation to Shell House

Awesome location and well-stocked kitchen

The communication with owner was fabulous and very fast replies. The location is perfect to get to the sunset beach and the bird sanctuary. The screened in porch was fantastic. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The kitchen is well-stocked and made cooking easy for our family. Our only complaint was the beds and furniture were well worn. Still usable, but not good for older folks.

Great Location, Quaint & Comfy Home!

This house has the classic older "Sunset Beach layout" (my family has been vacationing here for decades), with a central living room & dining/kitchen space and then two bedrooms off to each side with a bathroom in between. Nothing fancy at all but comfortable and cute! The location is amazing, just a quick walk to the beach -- and the porch is definitely a highlight of the property. Cleaning could've been a bit better as we found hairs throughout both bathrooms in the showers and sinks, but this wasn't a huge deal -- we just wiped the areas down. Overall great value, would stay again.

Beautiful, Clean, Well-Appointed Beach House for a Perfect Family Vacation!

Shell House was absolutely perfect for our family. The location is perfect-- just a short walk to the beach that was no problem even for toddlers overburdened with sand toys. The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully supplied with so many things that made our stay easy and fun. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to cook, and there were bikes, boogie boards and beach accessories under the house. Access to Netflix and Disney + in rooms gave us a way to keep the kiddos entertained and get some downtime for ourselves when needed. The host, Bill, was just incredible and very responsive and accommodating. The house is comfy and welcoming for little ones, and laid out well for a family. We were so thankful for the excellent pricing as well! This was our first stay at Shell House, but we loved it so much that we booked our next year's stay while we were still there-- we can hardly wait for vacation 2024 at Shell House! Thank you, Bill, for providing this wonderful place for our family to get away from it all!

“Updated Propery” needs updating

Communication with property owner and check in was accurate and concise. We arrived to a house in absolutely deplorable shape. Counters were covered in spilled drink, food and sand all over floors, garbage overflowing and bathrooms were horrendous with urine all over seats, floors, body hair all over toilets, sinks, and showers. After spending 60 in cleaning supplies and 3 hours later is was somewhat decent to stay at. Blood spots, bodily fluid stains all over the beds, so bad that our group slept in sleeping bags on the beds and had to use camping gear for better sanitary conditions than the bedding we arrived to.Listing claims there is a hot tub, there is none, dryer has no heating element, you take your life in your own hands going up to the roof deck with the amount of rotten wood.Did get a hold of the property owner after multiple attempts, they apologized for lack of cleanliness, but even with a cleaning the furnishings were super rough.Loved Sunset Beach, location was good - renter beware or alternatively you might want to get a penicillin shot after your stay.

Best vacation I've ever had

I cannot begin to tell you the amount of peace I had staying at the Shell House. It was SO HARD for me to leave! Just a short walk to the beach - which was incredibly clean, the sand soft as silk, beach wasn't crowded, waves were not too rough, but not too calm. Just right! The boardwalk to the beach was in great shape. Neighborhood was pretty quiet other than the garbage trucks in the morning. 4 rooms with 2 bathrooms which was sufficient for the 7 of us. We were able to watch our favorite shows on the TV as were able to access Amazon. The kitchen has a PANTRY! Normally when we rent homes for vacations, we always have problems finding room for our food - not this time! All appliances worked well. The house was clean except for some sand leftover from the renters before us. There's an outdoor shower and hose to rinse off after being at the beach. Porches on both sides of the house - AND MY FAVORITE - a crow's nest!! I spent so much time up there - you can see and hear the ocean. It was heavenly. I'm so hoping I can go back again next year. If it were up to me, I'd be there at least 4 times a year! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Bill - it was truly the most peaceful vacation I've ever had. I love the ocean and I love the Shell House.
