Sea Trail Hotels, Sunset Beach

"Wonderful stay at The Avista. It was convenient to have indoor and outdoor pools and Hot tubs. We used the outdoor and indoor hot tubs and frequented the poolside bars. Our unit was well maintained and clean. The grounds and outdoor amenities were clean. I would advise a refresh of the fitness center. There was also an indoor bar/lounge but it was really quiet. Great to be on the beach. Great location close to Main Street where dining and bars are. We went in early May."

"This property was extremely nice, high-end upgrades as well and jt definitely felt like home. The only negative was we were supposed to have a King bed and it was clearly two smaller beds put together. The "crease" in the middle was uncomfortable and definitely not what was advertised."

"I chose the wrong room and was in the BW annex A room king bed. Ref microwave Smelled musty. Was told since I went through a third party they could not changed anything. They told me there were no ocean front or views available. Which was not true Didn’t eat breakfast cause it is in the main building. Not sure if I would stay there again. Could have got something cheaper across the street If you stay there make sure you don’t get stuck in the annex"

"We stayed at the Sands Ocean Club Resort from 5/9-5/11. Had a late check-in and appreciated the 24/7 staffing at the front desk. Our night was quickly upset by waking up around 4am to bedbugs in room 1601. They bit my partner and left welts on his arm for the weekend, which was not pleasant. The hotel moved us to a different room for the weekend where we had no other issues. We are waiting to hear if our night with the bedbugs will be comped. The hotel is doing an "internal investigation" and told us they will follow-up. We appreciated the pool, the beach bar and the beachfront property - but everything else about the hotel was subpar. Both rooms were poorly maintained. I suggest this hotel only if your plans are to beach & sleep."

"The floors were sticky and turned our feet black. The toilet kept getting stopped up, but eventually went down. The tub would not drain the entire time we were there."

"I was honestly pleasantly surprised by this hotel and ended up enjoying it way more than I expected. The location was one of the best parts — it’s way up in North Myrtle Beach, so you’re away from all the crowded, hectic tourist traffic and hustle of the main strip. The beach area felt quieter, more relaxed, and the views were fantastic. The property itself is a little dated, but everything seemed to be kept in pretty decent condition. The pool area was large and enjoyable, and while the hot tub smelled a little odd, it was hot and working fine. The real hidden gem was the outdoor cabana bar area behind the hotel. They had live music, cheap beer, bar food, and a really fun laid-back atmosphere right by the beach. The room completely exceeded expectations. We booked a suite and it was phenomenal — king bed, two bathrooms, separate living area, couch, two balconies/patio areas, and even an in-room jacuzzi tub in the living room. For the price, it felt like an incredible value. Overall, this ended up being one of the better Myrtle Beach stays I’ve had, especially for the money. Great location, relaxing atmosphere, and much better than expected. I’d absolutely stay here again."
