"Great hotel and service a bit annoying you have to pay for parking"

"Staying at the Grand Hotel was a privilege, it is a wonderful hotel with warm, kind and friendly staff. The rooms are well appointed with a smart TV, very comfortable beds and a Nespresso machine! The tap water tastes so clean and fresh here. There is daily housekeeping which was respectfully and conveniently timed and done well. The bedroom and ensuite shower room were perfectly clean throughout our stay. The windows open, and the radiator heat is adjustable, for those like us that are sensitive to heat or cold and we slept so well here compared to other stops on our trip. There was a little noise with the window open on a Friday and Saturday night with people returning home from nights out, but it didn't last long and didn't bother us. There was also a miscommunication about food services available on a Sunday (the info in the lift wasn't updated) but we were sent on the right path to get a wonderful pizza a short walk away so it was all fine and we couldn't be happier with our time spent here. We will be back in Spring!"

"My room was so spacious and relaxing after touristing all day. The breakfast was awesome and fresh. The staff were great. Parking right outisde of my room using patio door to unload and load my rental was great. I ended up coming backnto this place for 3 nights consecutively. Each time the staff were like youre back. "Lovely traditional hotel on the main road to Oslo. We were given a friendly warm welcome by the owner and even though we were the only guests (apart from grazing sheep) it felt cosy. "

"This was an amazing place to stay. Spectacular surroundings, historic lodge reminiscent of a US national park lodge, outstanding breakfast included. We didn't take the opportunity to have a sauna, but there is a beautiful one on site."
