The Bungalow - Charming 2 Bed/2 Bath Guest House on 2 acres in Summerville, SC

"The Bungalow" is a 2 bed / 2 bath guest house located on the grounds of Linwood, Historic Home and Gardens, a 2-acre Victorian era estate built in 1883. The house provides spacious accommodations for up to four guests with eat-in kitchen, dinning room, living room, screened in patio, private courtyard and garden. IT IS ALL ON ONE FLOOR. Bed linens and bath towels included. Amenities include dishwasher, washer/dryer, Cable TV, Wi-Fi, off street parking for two vehicles and use of the grill.

- 3 mins to downtown Summerville with great local restaurants, shops and a YMCA for working out
- 10 mins to Nexton Square with more great restaurants and shopping
- 25 mins from the Charleston Airport (CHS)
- 35 mins to Historic downtown (restaurants, shopping, carriage tours, etc.)
- 40 mins to Sullivan’s Island (our favorite local beach)
- 45 mins to Folly Beach (our second favorite local beach)

The Bungalow at Linwood is located on a two-acre historic estate in downtown Summerville with a beautiful garden and walking paths around the property that are open for guests to explore. There is a main house and three detached guest houses on the property. The Bungalow is the house in the middle at the end of the driveway.

Private History and Horticulture Tours of the 1883 Linwood estate are available upon request.

The bungalow was as described and the photos are an accurate depiction of the rooms and outdoors. We stayed for one week with no problems and we were very happy with the accommodations. The rates were fair and reasonable. Definitely recommend this VRBO listing to interested travelers!

The stay at the Bungalow was one of the highlights of our visit to Summerville. It was quiet, clean and very safe. We had everything we needed. I highly suggest you walk the grounds of Linwood or ask for a guided tour as we did. It was very informative. You are also within walking distance to historic downtown Summerville. Would definitely stay here again.

The cottage is located down a short and quiet gravel lane within walking distance of beautiful Summerville. The historic 2 bedroom/2 bath guest house was cozy, clean and very comfortable; furnished with antiques and it had all the modern conventions. With a living room, spacious eat in kitchen and 2 large porch, we had plenty of room. There is also a washer and dryer.Our host could not have been more kind and hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at The Bungalow, we look forward to or next visit.

Incredible Stay!

We stayed here last year in a different cottage on the property but could not get the same one as last year. So we got the bungalow. It exceeded our expectations. We love the beautiful southern setting with all of the historic housing in the neighborhood. My mom and I walk every morning to look at all of the beautiful houses, and the property itself has a beautiful garden.This is the go to place in Summerville SC

We enjoyed the cottage and the location in Summerville. The cottage was quaint, quiet and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the opportunity to stroll and enjoy the plants and landscaping. Great cottage stay.

We had a great stay at the Bungalow! The place was clean, comfortable and quiet! Earl Gray the cat gave us a tour of the beautiful gardens. Check in was easy and communication was great! The Bungalow was better than staying in a hotel. We had an easy walk to downtown Summerville.

Wonderful cozy cottage

Loved our three days here as used it as a launch pad for our new home. Clean cozy and welcoming in all regards. Owners incredibly responsive to our requests and changes. Gardens ate lovely. Truly a sanctuary and refreshing respite from the hassle and fatigue of moving to a new location.

I checked a bucket list this last week staying in Charleston and Summerville. The Bungalow at Linwood did not disappoint. The Bungalow was a perfect place for me and my two nieces that that took off work to meet me in Summerville for a fun filled relaxing weekend. The house and the grounds are beautiful. Great stay!

We had a great stay at the cottage! My husband and daughter kept telling me what an awesome job I did picking it out LOL! It was quiet, the perfect size for our family, and the perfect place for us to relax after long days of competitive dance and/or sightseeing. Only wish we had more time there. Earl Grey was a wonderful host as well 😻! Thanks for having us and if we’re ever that way in the future, we would not hesitate to stay again.

Wonderful time!

We had a wonderful trip! Everything was seamless from beginning to end. The home was clean and had eveything we needed. It was so quiet and peaceful! A true retreat. Linwood Summerville

We had a fantastic time at The Bungalow, it was very comfortable, private and within fabulous gardens. Linda was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable creating a relaxing atmosphere, contributing so much to our fabulous holiday. Summerville is not only a lovely town itself but within an easy 30 minute drive to most local attractions including Charleston. We would have no hesitation in returning, we had such a lovely time there.

Wonderful stay

The host was very responsive, answering any questions we had. When the AC wasn't working initially, they had a service tech come out quickly while we were out to dinner and got it resolved before we returned. The living spaces, kitchen, and bedrooms made it a much more comfortable stay than a standard hotel room. The gardens were nice surrounding the area, and the girls enjoyed the playground across the street.

This property is nestled on a quiet lane next to a historic home. It was the perfect setting to relax in; a peaceful environment after a busy day exploring the area. Perfect Summerville Cottage

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at the cottage for three nights. It was perfect for our family. The check in and checkout process were easy with good communication from the host. The property is so peaceful, beautiful, and quiet. The house was exceptionally clean and all of the linens and bedding smelled wonderful and were very comfortable. The back patio and yard are very secluded and private. We enjoyed having our coffee on the screened in porch every morning. The house truly felt like a home away from home. We have family in the area so we will definitely be re-booking the next time we are in Summerville! Also, we fell in love with Earl Grey!
