What a wonderful stay we had! Not only is this home is in a beautiful area, but it is full of charm and warmth. The claw foot tub, a porch swing and Adirondack chairs around a fire pit helped make our stay even more enjoyable. The host was super quick to respond to every inquiry I had.
It was more than my family of 6 expected! Beautifully furnished with plenty of towels and bedding. Kitchen had everything we needed to make some meals at home. We even had visits from local ducks and roosters walking by as we sat on the front porch and out back with a small fire pit. We went to Bar Harbor 3 times and Schoodic point which each took us about 49 min. each way and a beautiful drive. The home only 10 min from grocery store/wallmart. Emily was very responsive both before our stay and during.
My family had a wonderful stay in this house. Between hiking in the Schoodic Peninsula, visiting Bar Harbor, and soaking up the view from Cadillac Mountain, we loved swinging on the porch swing, having coffee on the front porch, and relaxing around the dinner table.
The house is recently renovated, clean, and in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts are invested in your stay and very responsive to any messages you send. There are restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores all close by - be sure to grab a slice of pie at Helen's in Ellsworth!
Anyone looking for a peaceful spot just outside of Acadia should consider here. Highly recommend!
Great location to explore Acadia and other areas of Maine. Loved the old/reclaimed look of the house. The host answered right away with questions we had. I would recommend this place
We had a great time on our trip to the Acadia National Park area. Emily was a great host and was always quick to communicate during booking as well as during our stay. The house was exactly as described and worked perfectly for our family of 4. Our two older kiddos were thrilled to have their own bedrooms. This was one of the most well equipped homes we’ve rented. I tend to bring everything I think I might need but our host really thought of everything. From toiletries to kitchen supplies to laundry, to wood for the firepit, everything was there for us. I brought lt way more than I needed and could have left a lot at home. The house was also super clean and well cared for. We loved the unique decor. The fenced backyard was a huge bonus since we were traveling with our dog. The location worked well for us. We knew when booking that we’d have a bit of drive to Bar Harbor and the main entrance of Acadia but it really wasn’t bad at all and we made the trip several times during our stay. We were close to the Schoodic Peninsula and spent a fun half day there followed by lunch in Winter Harbor. We also had fun exploring the many antique stores in nearby Ellsworth. All in all, it was a great trip and we definitely recommend this rental for anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay in the area.
