Sawyer Harbor Retreat is a perfect all-season getaway to enjoy some quality time with your family. This waterfront cottage is located on Sawyer Harbor, just south of Sturgeon Bay and minutes from Idlewild Golf Course and Potawatomi State Park in Door County, Wisconsin. The cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and can accommodate up to ten people. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing vacation, with a fully-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, and a spacious patio. The property comes with a private dock, making it easy to launch kayaks or canoes for a relaxing ride in the harbor. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a fun-filled family vacation, Sawyer Harbor Retreat is the perfect place to stay.

Wake up to the sound of the birds chirping and the sun just starting to peek over the horizon. Sit on the back patio with a cup of coffee and watch as the world comes to life. Kayak or canoe around the harbor as the sun rises, or paddle out to the middle of the harbor and just float. In the evening, build an outdoor fire in the fire pit and sit around chatting with friends and family, watching as the stars come out one by one. Toast marshmallows and make s'mores, then head to bed feeling exhausted from all the fresh air. In the morning, do it all over again. Life is good when you have a huge backyard, two kayaks, and plenty of yard games.

✪ 2025 Water Levels
The water level of the harbor near the cottage is down substantially from its high levels just a few years ago. Therefore, it's difficult to put in the kayaks this year. Our kayak launch is at the end of our property, so we cannot move it further into deeper water.

After a long day of exploring Door County, there's nothing better than sinking into a king-sized bed in our beautiful master bedroom. The south-facing windows offer stunning views of Sawyer Harbor, and the ceiling fan ensures you'll always be comfortable. Our ensuite bathroom comes complete with fresh linens and all the amenities you need to relax. And for our remote workers, we've got you covered with a dedicated desk and workspace. Whether you're looking to rest or get some work done, our master bedroom has everything you need.

✪ Guest Bedroom - Queen bed on the main level

The guest bedroom is a cozy haven when it's time for bed. The queen bed is comfortable and inviting, with fresh, crisp linens and plenty of pillows. The room is on the first floor, so there are no stairs. And you'll always be able to find what you need, whether it's an extra blanket or a place to charge your phone. The full guest bathroom is adjacent to the guest bedroom.

✪ Sleeping Loft - 2 Queen beds and a Futon

The upstairs loft is an excellent place for kids (or adults) to have a little more space to themselves. The loft sleeps up to six with two queen beds and a futon. Plus, it has a ceiling fan to keep you cool in the summer. Our board and card games and a few books are located in the loft for the days you choose to stay in the cottage.

2025 is a bit different by the water. Low water levels in Lake Michigan may inhibit your ability to put in the canoe or the kayaks near the dock.

Nestled in the harbor, our large backyard offers a picturesque setting for quality time with loved ones. From the dock and waterfront for aquatic adventures to the sprawling lawn for outdoor games, and a cozy fire pit with ample seating – our space caters to all your leisure needs. Indulge in al fresco dining on the spacious patio equipped with an umbrella, an outdoor dining table, and dual grills (gas and charcoal), which are perfect for summer cooking.
