Private Estate - Romantic - Peaceful Escape
Unique experience! Ideal romantic getaway or Family friendly opportunity to Relax. Breathe. Enjoy the simple life!
This equestrian estate has a very private setting with acres of lush landscape. White fences surround the grassy pastures. The water fountain dances on the private pond. Watch the beautiful sunrise over the cedars. Enjoy an afternoon of watching the horses, ponies, mini highlanders, mini horses, chickens and cows graze and play. See the deer and geese wandering in the pastures. Take in the colorful sunsets while sitting by your own private fire pit (wood provided).
The beautifully furnished living quarters is a very large studio apartment. There is a new king size bed and 2 twin log beds. An Amish built table and dining chairs have views of the indoor arena. Kitchenette has an under-counter refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot, sink, dishes and utensils. All linens and towels provided. The private bathroom has a shower and new vanity with a stone countertop. There is a TV mounted over the electric fireplace and free high-speed wireless internet.
What you can experience at the stable: Daily feedings of the horses, ponies, cows, and chickens; gathering of the chicken eggs; the animals strolling out to their pastures in the morning and returning to their stalls each evening, mucking stalls, feeding treats, playing with the cats, petting the animals.
If you prefer, room darkening curtains to the living quarters can be pulled to provide privacy.
The stable animals are awake and expecting their first feeding around 7 am. We will be as quiet as possible! Please note the living quarters are attached to the stable and you may hear some activity.
Important: For your safety, we ask that you mind the animals, riders, farm equipment, fencing, etc. Permission and supervision are required to access the indoor riding arena.
There are opportunities to "Greet & Treat" our animals if you would like.

Wonderful serene place to stay! Very clean and unique experience. The owners are very nice, welcoming and informative about things you can do in the area . Definitely a place to return!
Perfect location to go anywhere in Door County. Our family loved staying on the farm...the kids could not get enough of the animals during our stay. Room was well kept and very comfortable. Look forward to returning!
The check in process was flawless and the owners could not be more accommodating. Everyone who we encountered engaged us with a friendly greeting and great conversation. This is a working ranch, so you will never feel isolated. I've been coming to Door County for years but learned more about the area from owner Steve during our short three night stay than I had in the last 35 years!
This was our 2nd time staying in the cozy space and our kids loved it. They loved feeding the horses and chickens and spending time hanging out with the cats. Property is beautiful and in a great location. Nice and quiet retreat.
Everything about our stay was amazing. The hosts were very gracious and friendly. The property was beautiful and private. My favorite part was helping with the animal chores!
For a first time trip to Door County we could not resist this place! From the actual building to the beautiful animals and wildlife everything was amazing. Tammy and her family were wonderful to talk to about the area hotspots and let us see all the animals. Would highly recommend for anyone going to the area or just a get away! We will definitely be back to stay!
Cool little place that was perfect for our family. Kids (11 and 9) enjoyed the animals. The inside was very nice and clean with quality furniture. Beautiful property and location was convenient for anything we wanted to do. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly.
The grounds were incredible, the lodging was as advertised and previously reviewed: clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
The hosts, Tammy and Steve, were so welcoming and friendly. They allowed us to spend time with all the animals and offered so many great suggestions about what to do in the area.
We will undoubtedly making a return visit to this outstanding spot.
Waking up to horses and cows and beautiful pasture every morning was wonderful. The home was fully stocked with supplies and even had a washer and dryer, full fridge, and toaster oven that wasn’t pictured. Hosts were great with any help or info needed. We had a great time and it was very close to all the surrounding towns for adventures.
My husband and I spent the weekend at the farm and had a wonderful time! Perfect place tucked away from busy city life but close enough to attractions. The owners were very friendly, easy to communicate with, and gave us suggestions for lunch/dinner and places to check out. We are excited to bring our family back next summer! The animals were definitely a bonus as well. We got to feed the horses treats, meet the dogs, and the baby miniature highland calf. Highly recommend this slice of heaven for the perfect getaway.
Tammy and Steve have a beautiful hobby farm with several horses, cattle and chickens. The guest house which is attached to the horse stables is beautifully furnished, well maintained and quiet! Their location made driving to nearby parks and restaurants a breeze, yet far enough away to enjoy their peaceful surroundings.
By the way the fresh eggs are delicious!!
This property deserves 6 stars! The hosts could not have been more welcoming. The large studio was much more than expected. Everything you need for a couple or a family of 4. And then…. The animals…..it was wonderful!
Thank you Tammy & Steve for hosting us and all your wonderful recommendations!

Tammy and Steve were great hosts. Despite being adjacent to the stable, we didn’t hear much noise from the animals. It was dreamy waking up to the beautiful horses right next door. We are from Chicago and Door County is always our summer vacation destination, but this has been so far the most memorable experience. Would definitely recommend for a summer getaway from the city!

This was a perfect girlfriend getaway on a gorgeous piece of property! It was like a dream come true that went way above and beyond our expectations. Hosts Tammy, Steve and their daughter Madeline were so welcoming and friendly, and we truly enjoyed our time and conversations spent with them. They exhibit their deep affection for their animals and the land that they manage in every turn that you take on this extremely loved and well-maintained equestrian estate. They make themselves available to help you understand the daily life of a working farm and welcome you to watch them succeed in their passion. The private and peaceful estate includes immaculate accommodations in an attached studio in the stable living quarters that is beautifully furnished and well-appointed with everything you need. It is a magical place, a slice of heaven, and we cannot wait to return!
What an exceptionally special place! We were utterly blown away by the gorgeous property and the farm experience was magical for our whole family. The entire stay was warm and welcoming. We felt right at home right away. Every detail is attended to in perfection. An absolute family favorite. We cannot wait to return! We are so grateful for our time here and for the opportunity to meet and spend time with (and learn from) our extraordinary hosts. Extraordinary place and experience, start to finish. Just outstanding!
Our four-night stay at the Stable Living Quarters was the most relaxing experience on a trip that we have taken in a long time. Our hosts were caring, accommodating and above all, wonderful people that we now consider our friends. We loved the grounds, the room, spending time with the animals, the secluded/quiet location, and the fire pit for evening relaxation. The room was immaculate, there were no barn odors, and we never heard the animals at night and rarely during the day. The Stable was just a 10-minute drive to Sturgeon Bay and within 30-minutes to most Door County tourist sites and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again if we should return to northeast Wisconsin.
We had an amazing time, we didn’t want to leave! Every morning and evening we “helped” with barn chores with the animals, which really just means we gave them lots of snuggles and treats.
Tammy and Steve are super friendly and very kind hosts!
The only thing I would say, is the GPS got us all turned around a few times finding the property. BUT…. Once you get to the property, you will be transported into a quiet, peaceful sanctuary,
WE WILL BE BACK!
First of all the family owners were exceptional. They greated us with open arms and really invited us to take time with the horses. My wife was side by side with feeding time. And if your worried about staying in a stable house, don't! It is fixed up very nicely, with some of the best furniture I have had in a VRBO unit. And you can't hear any noise, it was pretty sound proof. I sat outside for about 3 hours just watching the cattle, chickens and horses and just relaxed. We also went to thier bar they own in Sturgeon Bay and threw some Axes. It was great. Thank you again for a great get away.
We chose this as a last minute get away. We love animals and thought it would be a unique setting. The listing describes it perfectly. The family is so kind and gracious. We interacted with the dogs, cats, chickens and horses and visited with the family while they cared for the farm. It was welcoming and warm. We chose to engage and learn about the farm. We explored every part of Door County from this location. The apartment is very private and comfortable. I highly recommend! Thank you for an amazing get away - the fresh eggs were a treat. Tell Chief we’ll miss him! We visited his stall each evening.
