You really can't go wrong staying in Stowe, and being on the Trapp Family Lodge property is a huge bonus. The grounds are beautiful, with stunning views, plenty to do, and lots of space to explore-and cows to visit! The villa was comfortable and well-appointed, with a king bed, breakfast nook, large bathroom, and kitchenette. The bonus room worked well for our group, offering two pull-out beds and a second bathroom with a spacious shower. The host was responsive and quickly addressed a minor issue during our stay.A few things future guests should know: the listing could do a better job showing that the unit is attached to a main house (the folks checking in to that seemed surprised to see us). You only get the full picture of the building 24 hours before checking in, could be more transparent. It would also be great if they could add a mini fridge/freezer combo, since there is no freezer space—only refrigerators—so freezing ice packs for picnics or bringing home some of that famous Cabot cheese was a challenge (we sadly pre-bought ice cream on the way up). We also experienced some noise issues, including pipes knocking when neighbors ran the washing machine at 6AM and a loud pumping sound when water was used in the downstairs bonus room. Earplugs or a white-noise machine may help.Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The location, views, and accommodations outweighed the drawbacks, but the lack of freezer space and occasional noise prevented it from being perfect.
