We had a really nice weekend get away with our family. We appreciated the small touches (muffins, eggs, chips, coffee, etc.), that made us feel very welcome :). The area is beautiful, scenic views and peaceful environment. We would love to go back in the future.
This a-frame was the perfect getaway to destress and unwind. The leaves were in peak season, and the view from the cabin was of the trees and a pond. The cabin itself was cozy, and we enjoyed the wood stove. It was the perfect weekend.
This is a wonderful cabin with lots of local ammenities and activities. It is still just a short drive from several towns that have more sites and things to do as well. Spring and fall are the ideal times to go as summer means its a tad hot.
Stayed for 4 days over Labor Day break and enjoyed every minute of my time there with my girlfriend. Such a nice scene for a getaway from everyday life. Check in and check out was very simple. Doug and Jenn made it a great stay for us. We will be back for sure!
This property was quiet and peaceful. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There was breakfast in the fridge and snacks left for us. We really enjoyed the walking trials, walking the property and having camp fires. It really felt like a home away from home.
This is a stunning property hosted by some great people. I have no complaints and it was very difficult for us to leave. Romantic setting with no other houses/cabins within view which is exactly what we wanted. The wood stove provided cozy vibes. Nothing about this place felt run down and was very clean and well kept
The property, communication, check in process and location of this property are all fantastic!
We had a nice, quiet weekend away at the property which perfectly fit our needs! The attention to detail/hospitality is something you don’t find in many vacation rentals nowadays!
We’ll be back, we loved it!
PS - there are ZERO issues with the shower pressure as others have noted in the past!
The property is absolutely beautiful, we truly enjoyed our short stay. Nestled in the hilly woods , very peaceful and quiet , owners on site and very helpful. This place is truly a hidden gem. You can make a fire , enjoy the scenery of the woods/hills, go on a hike and it feels like you have the whole place to yourself. We will definitely come back when it’s warmer with the kids to enjoy the canoeing and lake. We love this place ! Thanks Doug and Jenn!
Words cannot describe how beautiful this property is! The property owners were so nice and made check in easy. Doug was so nice and even gave us a brief history of the property. They left us some goodies to enjoy. Those personal touches made this trip so much better. Thank you for the wonderful trip. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. It was PERFECT! We loved everything about the cottage. We slept so well in the comfy bed upstairs with the amazing fans and open windows. We explored the trails on the property and had a picnic under the trees. The pizza at Park Pizza is top notch. Can’t say enough lovely things about this place. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you to the fantastic hosts!
Second extended stay at the comfortable A-frame cabin. Had everything I needed. Total sense of privacy. Jennifer and Doug are gracious and experienced hosts. Responsive, available yet not intrusive. Thank you for breakfast, fruit and snacks. So thoughtful and appreciated. The ideal secluded property to escape the noise of the big city.
GPS didn't quite get us there but they provided detailed instructions that got us to the A frame without issues. The place was clean and we had a bunch of nice surprises in the fridge waiting for us. The muffins were amazing! The pond had canoes and paddleboats to use which was awesome and relaxing. The hosts were responsive and checked in to see if we needed anything. The only minor things were the shower head could be replaced and the wifi speed was very slow. Overall we enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend the place.
We enjoyed the trip immensely, as it had everything that we were looking for and so much more. The lake was beautiful, the swings were fun, the campfires were relaxing, the wood stove was delightful (and hot!), the cave was magical, the woods were mysterious, and the cabin itself was just so comfortable. The entire area was practically perfect, as if we had imagined it ourselves. The caretakers provided us with everything that we could possible want: firewood, eggs, WiFi, soap, and more firewood; they were very pleasant and accommodating, while not being intrusive. We spent much of our time checking out the local attractions and exploring the environs, but we could have just huddled up at the cabin all day, every day, it was that cozy and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a similar experience.
The Hisrich Hills Farm is one very special place. Quiet. Secluded. No! neighbors. I found the A-frame rustic yet comfortable with a lovely direct lake view. Agree with last guest comment that shower head could be replaced. The hosts, Jennifer and Doug, are friendly, available (live on property) and very responsive. At Doug's suggestion I printed out directions to property since phone service can be spotty and GPS takes you out of your way. His directions were specific and exact. Found the A-frame with ease. Did not expect breakfast, fruit and snacks on the house. So thoughtful and appreciated. Thank you! Found the ideal location to just sit in silence. Beautiful property. First visit. Will return.
We had an amazing time! Everything was perfect. They went above and beyond. The rustic charm very cozy and comfortable. We appreciate the breakfast food and fruit you left us. The scenery w picturesque views were breathtaking! Enjoyed the art stuff. We are definitely going back
We came for our 31st Anniversary getaway. The A Frame was very inviting and had a beautiful view of the lake and nature. We were greeted with a welcome basket of snacks and breakfast in the fridge. The property was so peaceful and we loved waking up to the birds chirping and the turkeys gobbling. We enjoyed seeing the deer visit twice a day and hiking the trails on the property. Can't wait to go back and stay again
Just a wonderful place to stay. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Very peaceful and serene. Hosts are great. They supplied the cabin with a lot of little extras. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.
