"It was bad for us, room was very clean and all the things are excellent, but the bed sheets were bad, the it was clean but caused itchy to myself and my wife. Very itchy. We did not complain to the front desk was we were very tired and slept, my kids were tired and slept."

"Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Couch had stains on it and bathroom is ok. Shower is outdated. Bar is very good. Staff great. Drink selections great. Center bar is our favorite. Food is very good."

But when we booked Expedia showed that allowed cats and dogs and this Windgate is Steubenville OH did take cats in Dec 2025 when we stayed there. but I called the day prior to our reservation, and they said they did not take cats since things have changed. They only take dogs now. It was to late to book with someone else so we had to scramble to find someone to take our cat. after going back and forth with Wingate they called the third party and Expedia change their information to only dogs. no good "

"After being on the road and hotels, it was nice staying here! We felt at home right away. Everything was exceptional, I loved the decor too, this house has the feel of a victorian home. Host was very responsive and allow us to get in early because we were tired. The mattress could be a bit firm it was too soft for my back, the bedding was hotel style and professional looking, everything else was good, unlike hotels, I liked the different shampoos brands in the shower. I will surely stay here again, book it! Highly recommend it. "
