Steven was so kind in helping us modify our dates at the last minute. The cottage was incredibly relaxing with the most beautiful surroundings. We were so sad to leave and really enjoyed our stay!
This was initially a little further out than I had thought but that turned out to be a wonderful advantage. It was just perfect for our vacation. It had everything we needed and the view of the sky was spectacular.
A summer retreat (return trip) to a quiet and beautiful area. Hiked in gorgeous nature preserves every day and hung out on the crescent pebble beach across the road. Bliss!
Stayed here with my father and brother while we were visiting my mother. Spent the week at this quiet and cozy seaside cabin. Beautiful views of the water during the day and all the stars at night. Would definitely stay here again if we ever come back. The host was very friendly and answered any questions we had.
Cottage was comfortable and homey with a lovely view of a lake to the east for sunsets. Beautiful views in short 1/4 mile walking distances too. Saw 8 deer!
This house was comfortable, well provisioned, and had the added benefit of accessibility with a ramp, shower chair, and a grab bar in the shower. Everything we wanted was easily found and the kitchen had all a cook could ever want. The water view in the back and abundance of wildlife just added to the experience.
If you’re looking for a little bit of an adventure, rather than a bland modern hotel room in town, this is a great choice. It reminded me of the house at the lake I grew up in, in northern Michigan, with lots of outdoors to enjoy and enough of the right amenities inside. Steve was very responsive and welcoming.
The stay was amazing! I live in a rural town in Aroostook County, ME. I thought I knew quiet. I didn't! There was no traffic noises and no machinery sounds in the distance. The property is beautiful with the cove and the grilling form the deck. The walk trails close to the property are relaxing and scenic. It is a perfect place to get true relaxation.
Super clean place, nice big kitchen with actually sharp knives. This was very close to some great hiking spots. Space enough for my family of four. We also enjoyed the view out back and saw deer, herons, and lots of dragonflies. Beds are comfy, and we all slept very well at night. This was perfect for a week to decompress. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Situated on the narrowest part of a peninsula, exactly between world-class nature preserves, with a tidal basin cove in the back yard and beach access across the street, this comfortable cottage just can’t be beat. Loved the entire region…visited multiple preserves and hiking trails. Very quiet and restful. Swam in Pigeon Hill Bay every day!
This was an awesome place to stay! The cabin had everything we needed and was clean and in a beautiful location. The check in process was seamless. The owner Steven checked in with us a couple of times via text to see if we had any questions or needed anything.. Which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend staying here!
We had our original VRBO cancel last minute, so we found this place, we are so glad we did! Steven was wonderful to work with, he always reponed within an hour or less. The house was so clean, well stocked, and so much fun. Get up, walk down the road and watch the sunrise, it's worth it. Highly recommend staying here!
This cabin was the perfect way to start our vacation in Maine. The cabin is secluded but there is still activities to do 20-30 min away. The host left us a list of things to do and restaurants to try that were around the area. The cabin has an amazing view of the sunset over the water and the stars were stunning. We saw a family of deer in the backyard. It felt like a home away from home! We would love to go back one day!
We enjoyed it. Really quiet. Nice, cozy place. Pretty wild country there. A lot of deer (and on the roads). Roughly an hour to Acadia. Access to water is not great for swimming purposes, but the sunsets are nice and the so is watching the tide. We only stayed 3 nights, so not everything explored, obviously.
The house was just what we were hoping to find for our vacation. It was a home away from home. We were able to relax in comfort after a day spent exploring the area. Everything was very clean and well stocked with whatever might be needed for our stay. We were pleased to find features which made it easier for someone with mobility challenges.
Steven was great! A tropical storm was expected during our stay and Steve made sure we knew what we needed to do. We would like return to this rental again if we are in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Mom in her 80's has mobility challenges and this cottage provided necessary access amenities. Tho physically motion might be difficult, her heart soared to be in this wonderful place for even a few days, the birds and deer and trees and breezes, the changing tidal views kept her entranced. Trails nearby on refuge gave me plenty of wandering time and miraculously little traffic. Hope to return sometime soon.
The location of the Cozy and Quiet cottage to the numerable walks in the area is a plus. Although it is right on the road to Petit Manon NWF the traffic isn't an issue.
The kitchen is adequately furnished including everything you would need for a lobster dinner. You can purchase fresh lobster at the dock in Winter Harbor.
The bed in the small bedroom is comfortable and being able to open the windows makes for a nice sleep. The futon in the back room isn't particularly comfortable.
Even though there is a house on both sides, it is private due to the vegetation between. (There wasn't anyone in on either side).
Overall we could recommend this old style cottage and would stay here again.
