Berry Pomeroy Castle. The twin-towered gatehouse and curtain wall built between 1450 and 1496 by the Pomeroy family. Ralf de Pomeroy came from La Pommeraye, Falaise, Normandy with William the Conqueror and was given 57 manors in Devon. The Elizabethan Great Hall on right was added 1560-80.

Only stayed one night for bed and breakfast for a night at thr theatre. Great room, comfortable bed and big bathroom. Staff were great. Breakfast was good and even did vegan sausages on request. Will be staying again in September for another night at the theatre.
