About this property

"Old Florida" Cottage in a Private Gulfport Oasis

  • Nestled into a private oasis of palm trees and flowers, The Montgomery Cottage in Gulfport offers guests a comfortable stay in this unique "Old Florida" neighborhood. The property itself is lushly landscaped with seasonal flowers, lemon and lime trees, plantains, Ice Cream bananas, mangos, loquats and more. If the fruit is ripe, help yourself. Nothing beats eating fresh fruit from the tree. The landscape is a photographer's muse and the back porch is perfect for relaxing with a coffee, cocktail or reading one of the many books from the house library.

Inside you will find two comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other a full size, fully dressed with fresh linens. There is a bathroom with bathtub and shower wand, stocked with beach and bath towels, soap and shampoo. The kitchen has enough coffee to get you started, is fully equipped to prepare a meal and offers a beautiful view through large bay windows.

There are two rooms for lounging, reading or watching tv. One is the library room stacked with hundreds of books, a leather couch and recliner, and flatscreen smart tv. The other has porch access, an additional leather couch and a tv/dvd player with a collection of over 300 DVD's for the rare rainy day. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer for your convenience.

Guests have access to the outdoor storage shed for use of beach chairs and toys, golf clubs, coolers, tennis rackets and basketball for the community course, courts and beaches.

You will find the Montgomery Cottage is ideally located to explore all that Tampa Bay has to offer with quick access to the interstate and 2 major airports, yet close enough to explore the community on foot.

Eclectic downtown Gulfport is a 15 minute walk through the Art District and past historic homes and parks. Gulfport Beach and Clam Bayou Nature Park is 5 minutes further.

Twin Brooks Golf Course and Stetson Law School is a 5 minute drive.

The property is only a 12 minute drive from award winning St Pete Beach and the same distance to the museums, shopping and nightlife of vibrant downtown St. Petersburg.

Nationally acclaimed Fort Desoto State Park is a scenic 20 minute drive.

Whether you stay with us for a few days, a week, a month or more, we're sure you'll enjoy yourself here in Gulfport. We love it here at the Montgomery Cottage and believe you will too.

*Please note: It's possible you may meet Judge, a beautiful and friendly outdoor cat who spends time lounging in the garden shade. Treats are available if you want to make friends.
As we've created an oasis in the center of it all, you may see a raccoon walking around at night or a possum loaded with baby joeys waddle through the yard. Please be kind. Our neighbors are artists and critters too.

Great stay! Loved the decor and garden. It’s true. Feels like Old Florida while at the property.Short drive or bicycle ride to everything we needed. We walked down to the marina everyday for sunset… about a 15-20 minute walk.

Host is incredible, location of the property is amazing. Very quiet neighborhood. The only thing I would recommend to the host is to get new beach chairs, as they were in bad condition, and there were not any beach towels at the property that we could locate. The host was very responsive and accommodating. We are very happy we booked this location and will again in the future.

The cottage was peaceful, quiet and serene. Everything was neatly organized and easy to access. The plants surrounding the house made it private, lush and very lovely. A cute friendly cat was there as well. We made friends with it. Inside the house are books on many interesting topics. I enjoyed looking through them. It had the relaxing feeling of being in a den or library. The house is charming and fixed up so well that the small size is unnoticeable. The breakfast nook and kitchen bay window was really cute and wonderful to eat breakfast at. I enjoyed our stay so much I would like to return again. I feel relaxed and refreshed from my visit.

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The cottage has a charming Old Florida atmosphere that feels cozy, peaceful, and unique. The garden around the property is beautifully maintained and creates a relaxing tropical vibe. The location was perfect for us - downtown Gulfport with its unique atmosphere, local cafes, and small shops is within walking distance, and downtown St. Petersburg is only about a 10-minute drive away. The host was incredibly responsive, friendly, and helpful with all our questions, as well as recommendations for places to visit nearby. We truly felt welcomed during our stay and would definitely love to come back
